I am in consultation with a highly skilled surgeon and I am considering an implant. I would like the FT community to share your experience with any of the following subjects to broaden my decision making.
1) Sensation: did you lose or gain sensation? I have some sensation loss from RP (May ‘21) and yes my orgasm is indeed different. Obviously I have no ejaculation due to the removal of my prostate and seminal vesicles. Sometimes my orgasm (pelvic floor muscles spasm) can be a bit painful…
2) Anorgasm: with bimix (my current method, and yes my dosage continues to increase) did it make reaching climax more difficult? With VED and constriction ring (my alternative method) did that make climax more difficult? -Did becoming implanted assist you with climax (I know there is a healing period to transcend).
3) Did your implant solve or exacerbate items 1&2?
I know psychologically I will definitely benefit from becoming bionic as well as give me some spontaneity back. Sex now is like a space launch…way too much to hassle with just to get to the pad…
A huge shout out to everyone who has shared their wisdom and courage here. I am grateful I have found this resource.

For me no change in sensation.

I was on Trimix for several years then suddenly had to start taking a stronger mix and increase dosage, that never interfered with my climax, and so far no notice of any change - but I've only had sex twice since being implanted.
3) Did your implant solve or exacerbate items 1&2?
I guess you can say it very much solved any issues I had, I no longer have to pre draw my Trimix or wait for it to thaw in order to use it then wait 5-10 minutes for it to work, when I'm ready just pump it up ( all of about a minute at most ) and then get busy.

@android912 I have been thru a similar journey; I'm now 66 and had the RP in March of '21. PSA was undetectable until last month, but went detectable in early June. I'm now on ADT for 6 months and will be adding 2 months of radiation in August.
As for ED; the pills worked for me before the surgery, but needed to switch to Trimix for the last 18 months. However not knowing where I will be in 6 months; I have an appointment with a high-volume implanter next week for two reasons 1) How best to maintain penile health during this salvage treatment, and 2) get on his schedule for going bionic in early 2024.
I know I didn't speak to your questions, but just sharing so that you know at least one other person is in the same boat, and I look forward to others answers to your questions
67 yrs old, married ro my beautiful wife for 43 years..oral meds did the job beginning at 58 until undergoing RPS at age 64, Trimix worked until it didn't. Implanted with 20cm Titan (no RTEs) by Dr Levine on 3/18/24

Re: Should I stay or should I go?
IMO, I do not think implant affects any of the above. Your sensation and climax should not change. It could be affected for a couple of months after your implant surgery but should get back to what you already had before.
Finally Bionic

Thank you guys for your comments! I lost my wife after 17 years of fighting breast cancer a few years ago. She learned way more from other patients as they will tell you the truth!! Doctors are busy people…FT members and posters have been a great resource.
I wish you all the best! We deserve it after all that we’ve been through.

Re: Should I stay or should I go?
android 912, I am also in the process(hospice) of loosing my wife of 61 years to breast cancer. My implant is 5 years old.. To your questions, the implant makes you hard and it hangs large when not inflated. Your sensitivity is in direct relation to the amount of nerve damage during RP. Implant does not change that. For 3 years after RP my members cold and white from 0 blood flow but I still could orgasm. At 4 years after I am getting nice color and warmth. My glans is warm and pink 90% of the time. I dont think I will ever see a dark purple raging glans again. I had a warm chubby this morning. A skilled surgeon like mine will not destroy your erectile tissue, but push it to one side. 1 in a 1000 will still get some erectile function after the nerves repair. Definitely get that implant. Just the new flaccid size is worth the operation. No more 1 1/2 inch turtle. As your nerves heal in the future all will get better. I had no choice as my RP he removed all my nerves and trimix caused PD. I hope this helps with your decision. You can PM me former info.
82, good health, RP 7-2017, all nerves taken , PSA 0.05, 4-18,, .07 1/19,.05 4/19, .03 11-21, .04 11-23, implanted 4-1-18, Infra-pubic, AMS lgx 15 cm with 5cm rte. Implant at USC Keck. Dr Boyd and Dr Loh Doyle 6.5 x 5, 800 AUS 7-21-20

* Sensation: did you lose or gain sensation? *
No,; I didn't feel.any difference in orgasm, and like you I've also had a Prostatectomy
*Anorgasm: with bimix (my current method, and yes my dosage continues to increase) did it make reaching climax more difficult? With VED and constriction ring (my alternative method*
Sorry, I don't know.
The only thing I tried was Cialis and I got "mushy* results at best with that
I simply didn't want to.spend my time going thru the plethora of pills , injections, voodoo dance rituals or whatever else may or may not work.
I knew.after my Prostatectomy my natural erection days came to a grinding halt and I HAD to do something.
* Did your implant solve or exacerbate items 1&2*
My implant.completely solved my problem.
100% satisfied.
A little personal.information.
I'm 56, after my Prostatectomy I entered into something I never felt before.
Depression.
I was a guy who never had an issue.in the bedroom, but man did those "Mister Softee" days hurt.
It really.screwed with my head.
Now that depression.is.gone.
I can go as long as I (Or my wife ) want to.go .
Incredible!
This implant.has been a life changer
I would repeat this process in a second.
Best wishes.

Re: Should I stay or should I go?
Again thank you brothers!
OldBeek I'm sorry for your situation and I pray for comfort for you and your dear wife. Grief is a real bitch. There is no emotion like it. Believe me, I know.
CuzznClark hang in there. I'm not sure what your timeline is but one of my questions to my urology/oncology group was can I have radiation treatment with an implant? The answer was absolutely. In fact, the new question becomes in what order are treatments (implant and radiation) indicated for the best outcome? Do you implant first? My understanding is once tissues are radiated they become damaged. My wife had radiation to her breast and chest wall, left hip, and brain (stereotactically) throughout the years. I don't know the answer to these questions and it begs for a new thread...best of luck.I'll tell you all i know.
Finally to Hikerman.....thanks. I need encouragement from gents like you. Going nuclear takes some real guts. I sincerely appreciate your positivity. My old fantasies were sex with extremely hot women in all kinds of situations.....now it's just simply to have a hard penis...
