Some discomfort 6 months postop.

Postby awb651 » Wed Jul 19, 2023 3:53 pm

I am 6 months postop, quite satisfied with the outcome with regard to erections and sex.  Most of the other dialogs here are consistent with my experience, so I won't ask questions or comment on them.

I was a grower, about 2" to 5.5" when I was younger, lost length due to ADT for Prostate Cancer and progressive ED, my Dr was reasonably aggressive with sizing (15+.5 BS CX), I'm at 3" to 4.75" inches now and the girth is increasing with months of cycling.  He said I had a small package to work with, I don't doubt him, but an otherwise healthy penis to implant.  He's a respected high volume west coast Dr.  I'm not obsessed with size.  I did have an issue with excess tubing, there was a coil in my scrotum and I finally convinced the Dr to revise it, another surgery (at 5 months), a much smaller incision, the usual surgery risks, but most of the scrotum and testicle discomforts are gone.   He shortened the reservoir tube and one of the cylinder tubes, he said the other cylinder tube was "well seated".

My concern is that I continue to have other discomforts, I'm aware of my implant most of the time.  The erections are great, as well as the sex, but I honestly miss being flaccid, I'm just accepting it as a tradeoff.  There are still 3 discomforts, (1) the hard ends of the cylinders as my always stiffy penis wants to press against my underwear and pants, (2) underwear rubbing against the scrotal skin which rubs on the pump, and (3) occasional perineum discomfort.  The perineum discomfort is sometimes unnoticeable, and sometimes borderline painful when I'm sitting on a soft cushion, as my hip bones are sinking into the cushion and the cushion is pushing up against the scrotum.

I'm wondering if I will grow any tissue surrounding the cylinder ends as a healing response.

I'm wondering if the implant has minor shifts, therefore the occasional perineum discomfort.

Any similar experience or thoughts from others?

At 6 months I was still a bit sore, especially after any activity. Rubbing in my underwear would irritate the head of my penis and my sack. For a while I wore a children's sock over my shaft. Also found that a small dab of Aspercream smeared on my shaft eased all the soreness. Sitting takes some time to get used to. Hard chairs are no longer friendly.
