Infection on Incision- Day 18

Hi,

I was told by surgeon incision is not infected on thursday, but it looks like this. Today i am feeling tingling, pricking pain on one side of incsion.! Did any of you had something like this. I am tired of traveling 90 kms every 3rd day to the hospital.





Currently on antibiotics sincse day 1 post OP.

That looks angry. If it was me I’d get a second opinion. Are you using a topical ointment on it or just oral antibiotics?

In my opinion, you need to talk to and see your surgeon right away.

My incision was a small, straight line up and down and it looked clean. My only real concern was getting an infection and my doctor said to make sure that I take my antibiotics. Besides the antibiotics, I made sure to stay clean and dry and that was all.

Both antibiotics for last 2 weeks and i clean the incision with antiseptic spray

He said its healing. And i can shower. I am not so sure about it.

I think you're ok. Its my understanding that they sew it closed strangely. It gives it a puckered look. Leaked lymphatic fluid is yellow, dried blood is the dark color.

What do you suggest? Shall i put sterile bandages or leave it open to get some air?

I left mine dry & open.

Mine looked similar. I left it loose and hung in big size boxers.

How ling it took your wound to heal? Dis your body get little warmer at some parts of the day, without fever also?
