Has anyone here with an implant had a back MRI done?
How did that go?
Thanks

I have had a few since implant. 1.5 Tesla machines and 3.0 Tesla (magnetic strength) machines as well as Bone, PET and CT scans. The imaging does show the implant and sometimes compromises the ability to read the image, but the technicians and physicians operating and reading are accustomed to working around them. Sometimes they require seeing the documentation on the implant certifying compliance to the imaging machine, so be ready with that. I have had to contact AMS/Boston Scientific once (when going for a 3T machine) for the documentation.
No big deal. Except once I had to cancel and reschedule because the imaging company did not have the documentation. Before that, the techs just took my word for what I had implanted and looked it up in a book.
Upper back, maybe not an issue? Lower back, which might involve the pelvic region, more likely. With me, they were looking for prostate cancer spread, so definitely pelvic region brought up concerns.

Re: MRI and Implant
No problem here. I have had three since my implant. Just make sure you give them the card showing what to set the machine on.
65 yrs old. Married 38 years to an awesome wife. Implanted on 8/4/2022 Titan 24cm XL. Dr Hakky. Loving the implant so far.
Re: MRI and Implant
No problems with the two or three I've had. Just make sure they are aware you have the implant, there are specific settings for the MRI. Will say my last one in January made my sack warm.

At first, I was rejected for.my back MRI.
The Doctor informed that it would have to be a "non -contrast".
I.DID end up getting my Back MRI, but it had to under those conditions.
It's a little tricky, you have to jump thru some hoops but it can be done.
Thanks
