Hi guys,
I got implanted with a titan one touch on 2/16 and am now about 10 days post op. I had an infrapubic operation and I was instructed to start pulling the pump down after day 4 when my drain was removed. However, I am having serious troubles getting a grip on the pump to pull it down. My left testicle is very sore and my scrotum is pretty swollen still. This makes it very painful to try and move the pump at all while fighting through the pain.
I’m worried that I’m a catch 22 situation where I can’t pull down the pump because I’m sore but i may be getting sore from the pump pushing against my testicle as it raises up.
I met with my doctor on day 8 to review removing my staples but he wanted to wait until this upcoming week due to the swelling. He told me to keep trying to pull the pump down and I expressed my difficulties with it but was met with a just keep trying. I will mention that he was able to pull it down twice for me, although painful.
I’ve tried taking a very shallow bath to just cover my scrotum and warm everything up. At this point I’m able to put two fingers on the top side of the bulb and gently stretch downwards. I don’t think this is enough but I can’t seem to do much more than that.
How did you guys get through the pump pulling stage?

Re: Difficulty pulling pump down
I'm 33 days post op and I also have an infrapublic Titan Touch implant.
After surgery, I was told to pull on the pump every time that I went to the bathroom or took the recommended theraputic hot baths.
That's what I did and the pump is now properly positioned and I don't need to pull on it any more.
My scotum was very sore and swollen after surgery and my left nut was extremely tender. Most of the swelling and tenderness went away after 4 wks but still haven't gone away entirely.
When relaxed, my rt nut now fully descends but my left not does not and probably will never fully descend again because the tubing going to the reservoir will prevent it.
I initially had the same difficulty as you pulling on the pump immediately after surgery and, while I intiially felt resistance that caused some discomfort, I knew that I had to keep pulling on it to keep it from "healing" in the wrong place.
Pulling was made much easier with the hot baths that the doc told me to take because as one who is a natural "grower," my balls are usually high and tight.
So, I agree w/your doc that you need to keep trying to pull the pump down. Doing that in the baths that you are taking (with the water, as hot as you can stand, as my doc recommended) should make it easier to do it.
Good luck!

Re: Difficulty pulling pump down
Thank you. It seems like I’m on the right path just have to keep at it and get more bath time in.
The other issue I seem to have is that I can’t get a good grasp on the pump. My fingers slip off the bulb when I try to make any downward pressure

Re: Difficulty pulling pump down
My doctor emphasized to just use a gentle downward pressure several times a day. I wouldn't overdo it at only 10 days out from surgery, I had the same situation at 4 weeks and everything has turned out OK.

Re: Difficulty pulling pump down
You Re still very early in the healing process. Keep trying but don’t overdo it. As it heals you will be able to pull more and more. The pumps are not delicate, pinch as firm as you can up above it where the deflate block is and that should give you enough grip to pull down. I understand you can’t grasp the pump itself as it’s very tender.

Re: Difficulty pulling pump down
You're doing fine, just keep gently pulling it down, it doesn't even have to feel like you have a good grip on it. I had the penscrotal surgery so, everything was swollen down there, all I could do was sort of get the pump between two fingers and try to pull on it and that hurt a lot because the AMS pump looks lie a pineapple and has large ridges.
I kept gently pulling it down twice a day, and really it was more like a slip through my fingers pull.
As I continued to heal, I could grasp it more but still just did gentle pulls.
Hang in there, it will get better!

Re: Difficulty pulling pump down
I'm 19 days post OP, and having similar issues.
Much of the swelling has gone down, but my scrotum skin still feels very thick, and my testicles are sore when trying to manipulate.
Doctor told me that I could start inflating and deflating daily, but the pump is very hard, and I still can't feel the deflate button. I'm at about 40% inflated and it's a bit awkward walking around. Lol

Re: Difficulty pulling pump down
Thank you all. It’s helped to understand and hear that the experience is similar for others. I am currently taking 1 shower a day, which is allowed by my doctor and then 2 baths a day, not currently cleared for. However I only fill up the tub so my testicles are submerged while my penis and pubic scar/staples are above water. I should be cleared for baths officially around day 14.
I do want to write what has helped me in case someone in the future is looking for similar information. I found that I do the bath water as hot as I can and then soak for 15 mins. I don’t touch anything during this time. After 15 mins is up and everything is loose, I gently place my dominate hand (right) in the water between my legs and to the backside of my scrotum. In this position I create a hook finger position with both my index and middle fingers and have each finger straddle what I believe to be the top of the pump. I gently apply downward pressure and try to pull the pump down towards my feet. I usually do this roughly 10/15 times for maybe 5-10 seconds each time to loosen everything up.
I then found that since I can’t get a grip on the pump without slipping off while positioning my thumb and index finger front and back (either side) of my scrotum, if I rotate my hand so that my thumb is on the right side of my scrotum and my index finger is on the left side of my scrotum, I can get a much better grip to grab the pump and pull down without slipping off at all. It takes a second or two to navigate the tender areas of my left testicle but it is helping me be able to apply successful downward pressure that I wasn’t able to do before.
I still can’t successfully identify where the release valve is but I have a follow up on Wednesday and I’m sure I’ll be instructed to start cycling soon.
Thank you again guys! You have been a huge help!

Re: Difficulty pulling pump down
Hi Guys,
what a great site!Thanks!!
Had a Coloplast Titan implant 3 weeks ago.Penoscrotal approach. the pump is riding very high and the deflator seems to be somewhat fixated to penile shaft at the base and bulb above rt testicle... anyone with similar experience and success with tugging? I understand surgical relocation is sometimes necessary but when is that determined?
Would appreciate any input!
