Hi, I want to ask those implanted and who have taken flights if they have had any issue with the airport security. Are the implants detected? I want to ask because It would be embarrasing when travelling with friend or work colleagues.

If you have TSA pre and don't have to go to the scanner we have to raise your arms you'll be fine.


The other day I went through the airport and I got randomly selected to go through the scanner to raise my arms and yes I had to get padded down front and back with the back of a TSA agents hand. Their first question was what's in your pocket my response was "my dick."

I kind of hope this happens to me, as my response will be exactly as yours was.

I've been on an airplane dozens of times since being implanted, and with TSA Pre. The implant has never been an issue. If the OP is flagged for a pat down, they're not going to yell "IT'S OK GUYS, HE JUST HAS A PENIS IMPLANT BECAUSE HIS DICK STOPPED WORKING" They'll do a pat down, you'll look at your friends like the TSA guys are crazy, they'll clear you to continue through security. Easy peasy, no embarrassment will follow.

Why not just mention to your colleagues ( although it’s none of their business) that you have a urinary stent that sets off the body scanner sometimes. I have very large scrotum and testicles that often sets off the scanner. Never been an issue traveling with colleagues.

Without precheck its been hit or miss. Some airports didnt care pick up anything on their scanners, some did.

I have been brought back to the back room twice now for full inspection. They just do their thing and then let you on their way.

Personally I could care less if they had to do this every time when on leisure travel. If you risk time crunches between work flights, then I'd highly recommend getting precheck.

Been getting the “ pat down” before most flights, I suspect its my reservore that gets the flag, I honestly don’t mind I don’t admit to anything and they don’t say much. Its fine not really something to worry about

I’m an airline pilot and though we can bypass security at most major airports the TSA has in the last 2 years increased random screenings to about 40% of all entries. For me, that’s a lot of screenings, but when this happens i always pass through the metal detector, never the X-ray. Never once stopped or asked about it.

I travel extensively in my days off and had multiple X-rays, and never stopped or asked about it. Not once. My day is probably coming…but it doesn’t concern me in the least. It is what it is, i don’t care what the TSA person thinks, and it’s nothing illegal.

Although my girlfriend might consider it a weapon!
