Hello Forum Members,
I'm new here and have been dealing with ED for years. I'm considering an IPP, but I have a few concerns:
Post-surgery pain: I've read about others' experiences with pain, and it's making me anxious. How did you find the courage to overcome this fear?
Surgeon Recommendations in India: I'm in India and can't find many high-volume surgeons. Any suggestions apart from Dr. Gupta? I've heard about Dr. Raman and Dr. Shah but don't know if they specialize in this area.
Implant Concerns: I've heard about Dr. Karaman in Turkey but worry about follow-up visits. Are AMS implants prone to pump issues? What complications might arise with Titan implants, and how do you decide which one to choose?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much..

Welcome to the forum, aravind.
Courage? I will answer that by saying that when I posted on a dating site that I was functionally impotent and seeking a "lab partner" on my way to an implant, I got responses congratulating me for my courage. My reply was "It is not courage so much as it is desperation." I had to screw up my courage to even discuss ED with my medical care providers for decades until my desperation overcame my embarrassment.
I cannot help much with surgeon selection. I took 14 months of searching and interviews to finally select a surgeon I trusted to do my implant. The one I chose impressed me by his dedication to his craft, especially when he told me that if he were in private practice, he would make sexual health and implants his specialty. He also talked to me as an equal and listened to what I knew about ED and implants as a peer.
I have an AMS and have had no problems with my pump. Sometimes the reports you read are not problems that require intervention by a surgeon, but simply better manipulation by yourself, which can be coached by the Patient Liaison from AMS, or by fellow members of FrankTalk.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum. You'll be happy you found this site.
Post-surgery pain can be anywhere from zero to wishing you didn't do that surgery. Honestly every guy heals and reacts to pain differently. Thinking of the end result will give you courage knowing no more dealing with ED!
I can't help you with a doctor, but my opinion is I like my doctors close. As long as you get a doctor who is good, the end result is the same. Best of luck with moving forward.

Though I'm in the US now, I have visited both Dr Banga and Dr Raman (both Delhi based). They were both quite personable and give me good advice, did not push for implant but provided me the facts. They've both written quite a few papers on the topic and are trained abroad - I do recommend getting a consultation with both and then decide. Gupta has negative reviews on this website and though I don't have personal experience with him, his videos give me a salesman vibe.
33 y/o, suffering from ED as long as I can remember. Never had random boners. Pills worked for a few years, but now losing efficacy. Venous leak confirmed by Dr. Garber. Likely going the implant route at some point.

I can only address your first question.
For me, the pain wasn't too bad. I didn't take any of the heavier duty pain killer my doctor prescribed. But I know other guys have had worse pain than me.
Consider these ideas for courage. Medical professionals will tell you that pain won't kill you. You can handle it. And remember, "No pain, no gain." For me, the prospect of being able to fuck again far outweighed any concerns I had about pain.
