Probably a running change then. What problem are they trying to fix?

Currently, the AMS pump is one single valve that handles both inflation and deflation. Boston Scientific has apparently completely re-engineered the pump and separated the inflation and deflation valves, so that they're under much more accurate mechanisms for inflation and deflation.

I suggested to my surgeon back in 2017 that having a pump for deflation as well as for inflation (so deflation could be positive and complete, not as it is now). He thought it was a good idea. I could not figure out how to make the doubly complex mechanism both small enough and RELIABLE enough to be successful.

It seems like it's gonna be pretty cool, because Dr Loh-Doyle suggested initially that I wait for the new pump to release before replacing mine. Only reason I'm switching out before then is because I can't have sex without the saline getting squeezed out from my shaft back into the reservoir.

I feel like I'm in good shape. I was implanted in February and as of right now everything is working perfectly.

When the time comes for a revision (hopefully many years down the line), this new pump being introduced should be tried, tested and tweaked. Just like I don't ever buy a new car in their first year of a refresh, I'd prefer to wait and see on any new designs.

My implant surgeon said they are coming out with a new pump. I had or have problems with mine deflating a little when using it sometimes. He said the bigger model cant take the pressure and it forces it back thru the pump. Mine will lose maybe a couple pumps and ill reset it. Im not going to have it replaced until it fails completely though. So if it even lasts a couple yrs then they can just replace the whole thing. AMS CX 24cm 2cm rear tip extenders is what he put in. Id do it again in the blink of an eye btw.

My AMS was implanted 3-2016 and I have used almost every other day without a problem.
Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.
