Comparing Sex Life Before and After

Postby YC1990 » Sun Oct 15, 2023 6:06 am

Hey everyone,

I am 33 and before two years ago, I had an injury that caused venous leakage, and after a failed venous ligation surgery, my only option left is an implant. My erections were at 100% before the injury. Can anyone share their experiences with IPP and how it impacted their sex life compared to their pre-implant state? After this surgery, if I compare myself with me before the injury, who wins? Will it give me the confidence I had before? Looking for some insights.

Thanks!

what you say in this post is too little, a prosthesis implant will commit you for the rest of your life, plus you can't go back, and above all you will have no certainty of an excellent outcome, not even from the best implantologist, your current erection what it's like, what you take for sex, how old you are, you may not need an implant today

After the injury 30% and after ligation surgery 10%

Frank i see you a lot in the comments that you are not satisfied with the implant. What problems do you have now? Pain or anything else?
Venous like since I was 20 years old. Pills don't work too well. Thinking of implant in the future

From your description you don’t have any other option! When you’re at this point you are no doubt Doing the right(only) thing you can do. IF all goes well with your implant, which contrary to some people, most have a great outcome. You will be more than satisfied with it! You will have some adjustments to make. It’s not spontaneous like natural but I pump mine up as we start for play giving me a more natural feel as we progress. Love to do the last few pumps while I’m in her mouth! Once its broke in and all settled down (6-8 months) you will be a new person with a truly bionic dick that won’t let you down for as long as you want to use it! Don’t sweat the small stuff. If you have no choice than it’s the best and only option

I've heard so many things about these ligation surgeries on here. I don't know why the medical community even allows them at this point
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is sexual health expert Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. I also have mild BPH

Night and Day difference for me.

Sex prior had to be planned and there was nothing spontaneous about it at all. It eventually got to the point where the only thing that was working for me was a VED (penis pump) and that alone was very cumbersome and mildly uncomfortable.

Sex after has been nothing short of amazing. I feel like a teenager again, and sex just feels more fluid, and natural. no more planning, relying on a cumbersome piece of equipment, and can be ready to go at a moments notice.

Surgery and recovery went well and time has flown since I was implanted. It's truly a life changer and something I feel I should've done a couple of years sooner.

You had sudden loss of erectile ability, so my comparison is not EXACTLY like yours. My confidence for decades was not good at all. I never knew if I would stay erect long enough to complete coitus. My partners rarely achieved orgasm by vaginal penetration. As my ED progressed, it became rare for ME to achieve orgasm by vaginal penetration. Eventually vaginal penetration was rare. So, my confidence level before implant was very low.

After implant, my confidence level took some time to recover. (The after-effects of decades of failures lingered.) Now, my confidence level is higher than I ever had, even as a teenager. (Of course, my sexual confidence at that time was hindered by the reluctance of teenage girls to have sex.)

So, the short answer is that I expect your confidence level will be as high or higher than you had before implant. The sex will not be the same, however. You will notice differences. A penis that erects itself from thinking about sex or a partner's approach or touch...this will no longer happen; you will need to inflate manually and this us just not the same. The temperature of an implanted penis has been described as cooler than a natural erection though this is not universally reported. After you climax, your erection will not subside, though your shaft and glans will lose engorgement. This is because spongiosum tissue (responsible for shaft and glans engorgement) has a different bood supply than the corpus cavernosum (responsible for erection rigidity). The corpus cavernosum tissues are damaged or removed in the implant operation and their function is replaced by the implant cylinders.

Shorter answer: Your post-implant sexual self will be FAR superior to your pre-implant sexual self. Your post-implant self will likely be inferior to your pre-injury sexual self.

Added answer: Your self is yourself. Your sexual self is only a part of your whole self.

For me there is no comparison IF we're talking about during my ED years and after implant. It happily went from NO SEX to SEX whenever I wanted.
IF you want to compare my youthful days to after implant the only difference is having to pump up my erection. The implant gives me a wonderful solid erection that feels as good as it always did.

Sure I can. 6 months before I got implanted my erections were hard enough to cut steel and I was having lots of sex with my GF at the time I fell into some addictions and left my gf but also increased my sexual activity and actually ended up injuring my dick. I could still get hard but I had an Hourglass shape and I hated it couldn't stand it or the fact that urologists that didn't specialize in surgery just live with it so I say an expert and I got the implant.

7 months in Sex before the implant was Great sex with the implant has been great too the only difference is my angle is lower and pumping up for sex I have had sex deflated though before with just my natural engorgement.

Your outcome largely depends on your preexisting etiology and the surgical technique. A guy that has had ED for decades, has cardiovascular issues etc will have a different outcome from a guy who is just getting the implant for peyroines correction and vice versus same applies to young vs old, younger patients have stretcher tissue and usually better bloodflow than older folks. Point is you will get a wide range of opinions here and you would do best to talk to young implanted guys with a similar diagnosis to yours.
