What happens once your Implant is removed?

Does anyone on this forum have an implant removed and now is living without an implant?, if is yes, how everything is working down there now? Do you have pain? Is the urine flow the same?. I'm thinking about having an implant, but I would like to know how it will be if I had the implant removed

I don't have an implant yet but will be getting one shortly. So, the last thing on my mind is what happens when its removed.

However, as far as I know, once you get an implant, there is no going back because the corpora are forever damaged installing the cylinders. So, if you're like me and can still get a partial (albeit ineffective) erection now and then remove it, you'll be worse off and will be completely dead down there.

Since the implant doesn't affect urination when installed, urination shouldn't be affected by its removal either.

There also shouldn't be any pain once the implant is removed because there's no longer a foreign object in your body, unless some damage was done in the process of installation and/or removal. No way to know unless/until you're in that situation.

So, why is it that you're thinking about removing an implant when you don't have one yet?

Aside from what sswinsfba posted, there is this: There is no compelling reason to have an implant removed, even if it is no longer functioning. In fact, the risks of surgery would suggest just leaving it in place. (infection, medical accident, etc and cost of surgery)

I'm in that very boat myself. My implant quit working a coup!e of years ago. I had the options of repairing, replacing, removing, or ignoring it. Since I had never used it once in 12 years, replacing it made no sense, nor did repairing it. I could see no reason to remove it - I had had two open heart surgeries in the intervening years and my enthusiasm for more surgery was exceedingly low. I'm quite sure insurance wouldn't cover it, so there was also the issue of cost. The implant has not caused any issues at all.

Yes, there is the option of implant or impotent, but if you choose implant, there have been great strides, so just keep reading FT.
There the 3-piece which a lot of guys have, or there is the 1 piece, which is just a flexible neck (like you find on adjustable lamps).

Short story. Type 1 diabetic, poorly controlled. Malleable installed many years ago. It has failed. Didn't have a big sex life. Implant has slipped out of his crus. Is causing pain. This has lead him to the conclusion that the decision for an implant was wrong. He talks like he seems to feel his experience is typical.
I have no idea why he hasn't been able to get it fixed. Btw, he seems to prove to me that yes, malleables can fail. Even with minimal usage.
He only has a 10 post history. None of the posts are very long. I strongly reccomend that interested members read them to draw their own conclusions.

What about removing a functioning one because your body doesn't take it to? I have read that a very small number of patients never fully heal and feel discomfort permanently. Anyway heard of anyone getting it removed for this?

My skin is not liking its newly stretched life and gets inflamed when any friction is applied. I am praying to the gods that it's not permanent, and some treatment is possible, cos I am not living out the rest of life with it. Its so ugly I would prefer a flaccid that looks healthy... I have sex with men so I can just be the 'sub' and make do.

Since I will never have a revision, no matter the reason, there is definitely NO circumstance for which I will have my Titan removed. I will mention one item to ponder re: urine flow. Pre-install, my urine flow was unimpeded by anything or any part of my elimination apparatus (save my prostate and I took FLOWMAX until I was implanted). Now, if I pump up at all, my stream can feel restricted although I cannot consider it an 'issue' to be somehow fixed. Additionally, instead of flowing straight ahead, the stream now flows in a line approximately 30 degrees to the right of where I'm pointing. I have to use a left 'offset' if I want to hit the commode drain hole. Like I said, not a problem...just an observation.
