Big dog, I hope you have an almost pain free experience as I did when implanted on 1/27/22. My surgery was done as an outpatient at a surgery center rather than hospital. The doc wanted me to stay overnight so I had antibiotics through the night. I had anesthesia rather than a pain block. I had a catheter until next day before a 6:00 am discharge. The worst part for me was removing the catheter. That hurt like hell! I didn’t take any pain meds after surgery until the next night after surgery and that was just to ensure a good nights rest. Took maybe 3 pain meds for sleep the week of surgery. I did ice though. Not bragging or being a macho man, just lucked out. The first couple of pisses did burn like hell.
As others have said, we’re all different, so anticipate that you may or may not have pain, discomfort or soreness. But for sure realize that it will all feel different and tender for awhile.
I wish you the best.

70 year old gay man. Implanted on January 27, 2022. Dr. Dan French, Dallas, TX. AMS 700, LGX. Began having ED issues before Viagra was on the market. Believe ED resulted from SSRI antidepressant medication.
Re: Pain vs. Discomfort vs Sore
Hate to tell of my experience, but I'm one of the 3% of guys who had a tough time. The first week wasn't so bad but I slept a lot the first 3-4 days. My first ever go with anesthesia. Doc gave me hydrocodone and tramadol. I was taking 2-3 of each every day and still felt like my penis had been smashed with a baseball bat, several times. About day 10 I was still feeling a lot of pain and the drugs were making me nauseous. Doc gave me Percocet. That eased the pain but by the fifth day taking it my bowels were locked up. Back to doc for 2 week follow up he tried to deflate me. Went home feeling like the baseball bat hit me again. That's when I was allowed to take baths, and a warm bath every morning helped. But during the day my penis was so tender, sensitive and sore I started wearing my grandsons sock over my shaft.
A couple days after my 6 week follow up, which was just as COVID started, my shaft started feeling like it was sunburned. Every time I'd inflate it would get worse. I started using Aspercream to numb that.
By 6 months out everything was better. At one year out it was just a part of me. I love it and glad I had it done.

Re: Pain vs. Discomfort vs Sore
Everyone is different. I had discomfort but not pain after the surgery.
I was cycling on the 7th day. My Uro did not believe in hot baths due to possible infection.
I may have taken 800 MG of Ibuprofen a couple of days but never needed OXY.
A year and half later I still cycle and at maximum inflation it gets very sore after 45 - 60 mins so I guess maybe I am still growing.

Re: Pain vs. Discomfort vs Sore
I am three weeks + post surgery and I have found the pain to be minimal (though there is soreness when cycling and staying erect for 20-30-40 minutes) but all in all the healing process has gone very well and I anticipate that that will continue..Wa prescribed pain meds - including percoset - but only took one of those on first night was I wanted to be sure to sleep through the night. I find that taking tylenol when cycling eases the soreness discomfort.
