The thought of never being able to use my penis again is also a thought I’m trying my best to shake as a 35 year old man. Funny that when I searched cylinder aneurysm several of those implants were done by Andrew Kramer who also did mine. And if search reviews for Kramer you’ll find several patients all saying the same thing… after he screws something up and you go back to him for answers he wants NOTHING to do with you. Tells you it’s all in your head and to go have someone else fix it if you’re not happy. I couldn’t have had a worse experience with him and his hospital. Nightmare.

This Kramer apparently is a high volume implantologist, in any case they are all like that, or at least the vast majority, after the operation they all say that everything went well, then the problems come out and they close all communication with you

I know how you feel for sure. Read my previous posts to see my story. If you go to a top surgeon they will know how to fix it. For me It took a while to get the infection sorted out and yea I am shorter than prior to the revision, but I am currently having the best sex of my life. I stuck with my dr for years and multiple surgeries and thought it was just me and my body that caused all the issues. Once I went to a different dr everything changed. Dr Doyle was very personable and makes sure I understand everything and I feel he has my best interest.

Is this the doc in Hyannis, MA?

He proclaims on Instagram he's "World’s highest volume penile implant surgeon"

Seek out as many opinions as you can before undergoing the knife again. You need someone that knows what they are doing and prepared for anything (including in your case re-constructing the corpora to hold in the implant and prevent it from popping out again).

Second, previous post - those trying to boast how many implants they do, does not make them the most qualified to fix complicated problems. Kramer was in Baltimore but i think got in some legal trouble. Not surprising given your experience and those of so many others.
Radical Prostatectomy in 2015; failed pills, straight to Coloplast Titan in 2019 by Dr. Valenzuela in NYC, Replaced with AMS 700 CX in 2022 by Dr. Darshan Patel in San Diego, CA. Wish I jumped to an implant even before prostate cancer!

Have you talked to another surgeon ? I am curious to know if they will just put the implant back in or replace the whole thing

cautiouslyoptimistic wrote:Hi guys I need some advice, Had a revision to an AMS CX and in the left cylinder fell completely out of my implant in my scrotum. I’ve only found a couple other case or this happening on franktalk. Fantastic luck I have. The Dr who performed the revision said the stitches holding the corporotomy likely tore and will need to be fixed. He apologized and felt for me, but I’m now questioning whether I should go back to him to have this revised. He only uses AMS devices which some have said is a major red flag. I now know that because he discussed the possibility of replacing it completely and I asked if that was the case could I replace it with a Titan. He was hesitant and said he only used AMS and hasn’t implanted a Titan in quite some time, but would ask if he could get a Titan for me. He said that the hospital he’s affiliated with only uses AMS so it might be a lengthy delay to get it. He then called me back a few hours later and said he did some thinking and the best solution would just be to reposition the cylinder and stitch closed the corporotomy instead of replacing everything. The device also has massive dog ears, and he said he’s not sure why that is exactly, but prior to the cylinder falling out the dog ear kept getting bigger and bigger, sticking out sideways literally 2 inches during the inflation process.

I just want your feedback on if it’s a good idea to go ahead with another surgery with the doctor. He’s a nice guy, listens well and explains things, but I’m questioning his surgical skill a little bit if something like this could happen. A million things are running through my head. I went in for the revision to have the tubing and aneurysm addressed and post-op he said something along the lines of “I couldn’t fix that bulge, I didn’t want to risk damaging healthy tissue”.

Wow! Sorry for your issues. I'm one year in Coloplast Titan and even though I had serious issues pre-implant Dr Perito came as advertised and so far everything is working properly. I'd highly agree with others to find a top notch dr. I personally and highly recommend Perito. And for whatever it's worth I did see two other well known Dr's here in Florida before seeing Perito and when seeing the issues I had, they both recommended Perito. I'm in Florida and was very fortunate to have this done pretty quickly.
