I had to have a revision surgery because my reservore was so visible
There are pictures on my journal here somewhere. It was as the doc. Said due to my body type, I m not skinny but there it was sticking out and yeh when I was deflated it noticeable in feeling and visibly. When the reservore was tucked in deeper it visibly disappeared but even now I am kinda am aware of it from time to time, but its never an issue just glad its not showing any more.
Keep us posted.

Hey! Read your journal, geez, yours was sticking out a lot, I wonder how that even happened. In that situation I would have fixed mine too. Because mine look like maybe a marble size bump, I’ll probably just leave it as is. Mine is also in my groin where as it looked like yours was abdomen. Once I grow some hair back I don’t think you’ll be able to tell much. I think I’ll just tell girls I have a hernia if asked since that’s exactly what it looks like lol.

If you read my journal you know you can see a small bit of the reservoir in my groin area due to very low body fat. It’s pretty sore there right now and I’m about 3 days post op.

Just curious if everyone else had pain at the reservoir site when implanted or if maybe my pain is worse because it’s so close to the skin? Hoping this is normal and goes away with time.

I can still feel my reservoir. Both with pressing on the location and just moving around sometimes. This is approaching 6 years. Not really pain but I know it is there. Or rather it lets me know it is there.

I had twinges of pain and soreness around the reservoir for months after the surgery.

Nothing serious. I attributed it to continued healing.

Thanks all. I think alot of it has to do with where your reservoir was placed. When I talked to my surgeon he said he has to split my muscle to get it into my groin area. That being said, I can only imagine it would take some time to feel better. Perhaps there is minimal pain if you have the reservoir placed elsewhere. It makes sense now though because I remember my surgeon saying “I placed the reservoir in your groin and you got to keep your six pack”. Didn’t really understand it at the time, but in retrospect I think he was saying he opted to put it in my groin so I wouldn’t have any potential bumps in my actual abdomen area. And if I did, it would be right above my penis in that groin area (which is actually preferred).

I am in the evening of four days out and my reservoir area hurts more than it has before. From having read many messages, I am not concerned or particularly surprised. It is a little freaky with some new swelling there it looks like it would be quite visible, but I know four days out is too soon to be worried about that.

Hey Rods
What size reservoir did you get? Seems like you might need the largest one?
Good luck and give yourself self time to heal!

Where did they place your reservoir? And what size? My surgeon put 130 of saline he said. Yet another varying factor between surgeons. I always hear of people not being able to pump more due to not enough fluid. Makes you wonder why a surgeon would do that. I was initially worried about the reservoir pain but after hearing multiple others here, I don’t think I’ve heard of a single person who has recurring pain at the reservoir site. I don’t know if I’d call my pain, it feels like stretching or a pulled muscle, which is understandable given they are squeezing the reservoir in a small space. Oddly enough, I didn’t feel my reservoir at all the first two days due to the local anesthetic. Day 3 when it wore off is when I knew.

It is an AMS 700 CX with the slim reservoir (i would rather that the pump was smaller). As I recall, there is 100ml of saline but I would have to check the notes to confirm.
