Next implant, November 27th

Postby robsae » Sun Nov 19, 2023 5:03 am

On Monday 27 November I will have the penis implant surgery with prof. Gabriele Antonini, in Rome (Ams LGX, infrapubic access).
I am 60 years old, separated, with two daughters.
I have had erection problems for several years.
In fact, I can say that, since I was young, I have always had the thought that something wasn't working perfectly well, in those parts.
I had lower libido and less sexual energy than most of my friends of the same age.
However, this did not prevented me from getting engaged to some girls, from getting married to a pretty and serious woman, and having children.
During the marriage, which lasted about ten years in total, my sexual activity was quite acceptable for the first fifteen years.
Not very frequent intercourse (two or three per month) but with regular penetration, including anal.
Then, after the age of 50, perhaps also due to a worse marital climate with my wife, sexual desire and performance increasingly decreased, which often resulted in failure.
Three years ago we separated, due to incompatibility, without third parties, neither on my side nor on hers.
Since then I have dated other women.
With a couple of them, I had relationships.
I did shock wave therapy, without much benefit.
I did testosterone replacement therapy for a couple of months, with pretty good results, when combined with Cialis.
However, it resulted in a significant increase in Psa, and I therefore stopped the treatment, which, however, in Italy, is subjected to strict limits, and can only be temporary, except in very particular cases.
I have been taking Cialis daily 5 mg, and Rabestrom 75 mg at the moment, but with mixed results.
The injections with Caverject did not help, except the very first time.
More useful was Levitra 20 mg, at the moment.
I have decided to have the implant done because, even though sometimes, even recently, I have completed the sexual act, I don't feel sure.
The classic "missionary" position (she below) is problematic for me, I am much better with doggy-style.
And then, I don't like the idea of always having to make heavy use of drugs like Levitra, in the hope that everything goes well.
Insecurity takes away pleasure from the sexual act, which always becomes a kind of exam to pass, especially in a long-lasting relationship.
My decision to have the implant was strengthened by many things I read on this forum.
I hope it's the right decision.
Thank you.
A warm greeting to you all

And a warm welcome to you also Robsae.

Thank you for sharing your story. Many of us will surely be able to relate to many aspects of it. I myself found myself in an uncomfortable marital climate and have been separated for over two years, with my divorce becoming final later this month. You were married so long, i hope you are doing well as you move forward in life.

Like you, i began dating, found a girlfriend, and had the implant surgery in January of this year. For me the issue was veinous leakage that allowed, but would not sustain, an erection for more than :15 minutes. When you write that sec felt like a test or exam, i understand. A race with the clock.

i’m now 11 months postop. It is a decision i’m very happy with. Recovery is a journey requiring patience and some faith. Indeed, i expect that soon enough you will become the next success story here on the forum.

Lots of guys here willing to answer questions or lend support. Please keep us updated on your journey and best wishes.

Why didn't it go well? What is wrong with your implant?
Venous like since I was 20 years old. Pills don't work too well. Thinking of implant in the future

Good morning friends,
I waited a few days before writing about my experience, to get a clearer picture.
I was operated on November 27th, at 1 pm, by Prof. Gabriele Antonini, with spinal anesthesia and deep sedation, infrapubic approach.
An AMS LGX prosthesis was inserted.
I was discharged from the clinic the next day.
On the day of the surgery I didn't feel any pain, also because, after the surgery, they gave me painkillers, intravenously, throughout the day. The only annoyance was not being able to move in bed, given the IVs and drainage.
The next day I was discharged, with the prosthesis pumped to about 70%.
I kept the drain on for another five days.
I had no severe pain or inconveniences, apart from a strong burning sensation when urinating for a few days, because the clinic nurse perhaps removed the catheter with an improper manoeuvre, even causing a slight urethral bleeding.
I had a slight discomfort in the subscrotal area, which however was not noticeable when lying down, but only when standing, and which practically stopped when, seven days after the operation, the prosthesis was deflated.
At the moment I'm happy with the result.
The penis has lost approximately 1 cm, compared to the length it had with normal erection.
But, I was told, that in time, some or all of the loss will be recovered.
In any case, it's not even noticeable, so much so that I had to measure it to realize it.
I noticed that even when I deflate the prosthesis, the penis still remains a little swollen.
It is never completely flaccid.
Furthermore, five or six pumps are enough to have more than enough hardness to have intercourse, and in my opinion optimal, because an even harder penis could also appear unnatural or even bother the woman during intercourse.
The total cost was €. 27,500.00, with regular invoice.
Overall, I regret, like many of you, not having done it sooner, experiencing every sexual relationship with anxiety and worry in recent years.

Congratulations Robsae!!
Now the journey starts! It’s AWSOME that you’re able to cycle so early. Continue the cycling for at least the first 6 months twice daily for 30 minutes or so and it will get much softer when deflated and should get you back to your pre implant size. I did the perito exercises daily every time I cycled which in my case resulted in a very soft penis when deflated. Let’s face it, your deflated at least 95-99% of the time so comfort is key. I got back to my pre measurements by 8-10 months and actually gained some girth. I am 19 months out and it just feels normal now.. for the first 6 months your dick seems to be the focus of your attention a LOT but after a while it just becomes normal. Enjoy your new you! If your like me it can take several months to train your brain that this thing is not going to quit on me. After 12-14 years of fails it just takes a little time to adjust. Good luck in the future, keep us posted!
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong and loving it!
