Dog ears - Concern?

I had a successful Titan implant performed in October. As the cylinders have softened, I’ve developed a pretty severe case of dog ears where my penis bends downward at the base.

They don’t cause me any discomfort, nor am I concerned about them being visible. What does have me concerned is whether or not these will be the cause of failure in the implant. Reading on here the comparisons to garden hoses and plastic straws has only increased my level of concern, because these two things would certainly start to leak at their bends.

I saw my doc last week and he downplayed it as nothing to be concerned about.

What has been your experience? Anyone have their cylinders fail due to these dog ears?

I got my Titan implant in August of 2022, dog ears are part of having an implant. Should be no worries. Sometime I just give a few extra pumps to lesson them. Gives you a little more of a bulge to show, which you will get use to.

I have never heard or read of anyone needing a revision because of them.

Riseagain is right - once deflated give it a couple of pumps to get some fluid back in and you good to go. Yes it does increase the bulge a bit but that's your new norm.

No known fatigue related failures at the dog ear ever reported to my knowledge here. I’ve got a dog ear. Never an issue.

As Dr Eid stated in one of his videos.. he has only seen one cylinder fail in all the years he’s been implanting. Most common failure is in the tubing connection, tubing , and pump. If this is true which I listened to him say it on a video on you tube I wouldn’t be the least bit concerned.
