Today is my birthday and exactly one year ago I got my Titan implant. I wanted to give an update on how the year has been and my take on how successful it's been.
Crazy, I know, to get the operation on my birthday but that was the way the appointment fell and I really wanted my new year to be different than the previous eight. Over those years I discovered I had a venous leak and it got worse with time. I could get an erection fine but staying hard was getting shorter. I tried pills and then jumped to injections. The injections worked but then killed spontaneity and I had to wait out the injection afterwards which would make for some late nights. Last year I was done and signed up for the implant.
Fortunately there was a surgeon located in my town who trained under Dr. Eid and had 100's of implants under his belt. After choosing to go with the Titan we made the appointment but the day before the operation my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Turned out even though the insurance company covers it - my job had it on a list of "cosmetic procedures" so they wouldn't pay for it. I fought a little but then decided I didn't want to be the poster boy in my small town for penile implants. I got myself some secondary insurance that covered the procedure and reset the surgery to January 18.
After getting the implant I did update and ask questions here on Frank Talk and everyone was great in helping ease my mind and stop freaking out over every little thing.
So, the biggest worry for me right after the surgery was the thick, squishy, "cocoon" that grew around the pump. I tried massaging it out daily and it helped a little but it hung around for a while. About 3 months in when I finally just gave up worrying about it I woke up one morning it it was gone!
The other worry was that I lost a lot of length but gained a good amount of width which was an OK trade off but still felt off. About 6-8 months in I think I was completely healed and I felt a shift in my implant one night after sex. Suddenly I had gotten my length back! I feel like I may still be like .5 inch less long, but my partner says it feels like it used to but thicker so I am alright with that.
I am so happy with the decision and now being ready for sex anytime is pretty amazing. My sex life is back to what it used to be and there are no more mind games I play on myself and feelings of impotence.
I don't want this to get too long but I am here to answer questions for the newbies. Please feel free to comment or DM me.
A big thanks to the Frank Talk community in making me happy again!

I'm just 17 days out with about 50% of initial swelling. Doc says when you have the big edema, it usually improves about 2-3% a day.
My scrotum is swollen and filled with the squishy stuff, primarily. I can feel the tubes at the base of the penis, but then can' follow them to the pump. But, then I feel what must be the edge of the pump near the bottom.
Question: When were you able to squish through this and begin cycling? Did massaging or palpating help it temporarily or offer lasting reduction?
Thanks!
71 years old. Implanted 1/2/2024 with AMS LGX, 18cm with 4cm rear extenders by Dr. Bryan Kansas in Austin, TX.
