Hi. I'm 58 years old and have both ED and Peyronies. It looks like an implant is in my future. I am doing a lot of reading this site and others. I have both seen and spoken to Dr. Eid and have spoken with Dr Kramer. They both claim to do both AMS and Coloplast implants but from reading the posts the reality is they seem to mainly do Coloplast. Is my perception correct? I say this because I am leaning more toward a AMS, and if that is the case I may be better off seeing Dr. Milan who works out of Vanderbilt. I am leaning to the AMS because it seems that being softer it may be more comfortable in it flaccid state which would be important to me. I have also heard that Coloplast is better in a larger size penis and I am on the smaller side.
Any comments appreciated.
Surgeons and AMS implants

doesn't dr eid and dr Kramer know each other?
Re: Surgeons and AMS implants
Welcome to FT bsandy.
You say that you suffer from both ED and Peyronies Disease (Curvature of the Penis).
It is my understanding that most Implant Surgeons prefer the Coloplast Titan for men with Peyronies Disease since the Titan
material of construction (Bioflex) is stronger and better corrects the penile curvature.
This may be why Dr. Eid and Dr. Kramer prefer the the Titan in your case. Just a thought.
Also, I was implanted with the Coloplast Titan in December 2007 after developing ED Post-Prostatectomy in 2004.
The Implant completely corrected my ED and restored the emotional bond with my wife.
To address your point, my Titan Implant is perfectly comfortable in the flaccid state, e.g., I still swim wearing a Speedo
Racing Suit and have never felt at all self-conscious about my Implant.
Hope this has been helpful.
Please feel free to PM me with any non-medical questions or just to talk.

My surgeon who does 125-150 a year at Duke Hospital use both but prefers coloplast for a stiffer erection. I had mine Dec 5th and think it is fine in the flaccid state although he left it inflated 30% until my six weeks appointment.

Re: Surgeons and AMS implants
if you have peyronies you should look for a titan because it is harder and it can straighten it over time and it can sustain modeling better

b,
I thought I wanted the AMS and was at first looking to see Milam. Fortunately, I hope, due to scheduling for Milam, his office made recommendation of Morey who was so much more convenient. Morey does both and I assumed would favor AMS as I, too, am small, but much to my surprise on consultation the 2nd Morey did the stretch and asked me about girth of which I thought I, as well as spouse, would appreciated more of, he immediately suggested that he would use Coloplast Titan. Although much is said that AMS LGX gives more girth and sometimes better length, I believe that is perhaps over a period of time where the Titan gives more girth from surgery. Regardless, I was all about receiving the device of his choice for me. Knowing that he did both made me feel his choice was a per individual and not possibly because one company over the other had influence. I have read that the Coloplast has softer tips now. I am just sorry surgery will not be until March. I was hoping for mid-December but evidently a number of patients were, probably much due to end of year/deductible thing or perhaps the unknown of what 2014 may bring in their insurance.
