Well: I’m sitting here in a hotel in Paducah, Kentucky, 9 hours post op. Dr. Evans installed a Titan Coloplast with one cylinder slightly shorter than the other, and when he came to see me he remarked that I really did need to get this done due to scarring.

I am elated to have a conscientious doctor and I made a decision to look outside Nashville based on the advice in this thread. Thank you all.

Congratulations! I agree with Rider1400 that it would be helpful to start a new recover-related thread and keep us posted. You’ve used a doctor unfamiliar to most of us and the man-on-the-ground reporting about your experience will be most helpful to others in the future.

If you have good success with him and like him as you say, a good report here on FT can really booster his business with his name added to the usual suspects.

Friend. Relax your mind now. Transcend those inevitable second guesses, take it day by day, ICE heavily (i iced 4 solid days, my part time job then), stay positive. Your healing is a marathon, but well worth it.

In due time, you WILL be having a sex life again and as so many here have written, your only regret will be that you didn’t do it sooner.
