Implanted on 8/25 2024 with AMS 700 CX 21 cm and 1.5 cm tip extenders. Yesterday was my 2 week post op appt. Doc said every thing looked good and I could start cycling twice a day for at least 1/2 hour at a time. When I got home I took a hot shower to loosen things up. I made sure that I was fully deflated. I then gave the bulb a quick pump feeling the pop of the valve. As I pumped the bulb [ very hard ] I found that I could not pump up to the point that My Dr. had initially when I was implanted. I am concerned that unless I can pump at least to that point, my cycling isn't doing a damn thing. Any ideas ???

pumping concern
Re: pumping concern
I think I have the very same prosthesis as you do.
I was released to cycle at 4 weeks, I could pump 80 times and never get the hard marble pump that I had read so many guys talk about. I contacted my doctor and asked if there was a bypass valve I was opening...there is not. I was confused, he told me just to keep cycling.
At about 6 weeks post op I slid into our 104 degree hot tub with my wife and began to pump. At 20 pumps I was rock hard and I couldn't get anything more into the pump bulb....it was like a marble! Man, did that cycling ache after about 20 minutes.
Now, I'm 12 months post op and I'm still at rock hardness at 20 pumps. My wife prefers more like 16, 20 is just too hard for her.
All I can guess is that the very hot water softened something up in the pump itself and allowed everything to seat properly. Make sure you're OK to get into a hot bath or tub before you try this, you still may have healing incisions.

Re: pumping concern
Great to hear that your implant is working the way that it was designed to function. I have a cutaway picture of the pump, and can see that there is no bypass valve. It is a simple switching valve.
Mine is working properly. I can feel the pop of the valve when I give it the initial pump after having deflated properly. The pump [as of this a.m. ] is starting to work with less pressure needed, but the cylinders are just not expanding to anywhere near to the point they were when I was released after the surgery.

Re: pumping concern
What can happen though is the deflate button is located on the side and how you grip the pump you can accidentally touch it causing it to not actually pump when you are activating both at the same time. Reposition your fingers lower on the pump bulb. The more you do it the easier it will be to get the right grip as to not touch the deflate valve

Re: pumping concern
Pumping along with hardness all takes time. Everyone goes through the same thing. Today at over 14 months in it's such an easy squeeze and go wall to wall if necessary.
Re: pumping concern
The pump can be glitchy especially early on. Try practicing in a warm bath. It will loosen your scrotum and make feeling the pump a lot easier.
