Vasectomy AFTER implant
Vasectomy AFTER implant
Anyone know if this is extra risky? I'm currently in Central America, and implants are really not that common so I'm afraid if I go to an average clinic they might fuck up my implant. Anyone hae knowledge about this? I'lll ask my surgeon too but would just like some other perspective & opinions also.

Did a search for this topic because I’m interested in finding out more info as well. 3 years into my implant and I’m hoping to get a vasectomy.
Have you found any info? Have you gone through with it yet?

Re: Vasectomy AFTER implant
There should not be any effect on an implant during a vasectomy. Basically, the vas deferens is severed and the ends are cauterized. The vas deferens is a long, muscular tube that travels from the epididymis into the pelvic cavity, just behind the urinary bladder. The vas deferens transports mature sperm to the urethra in preparation for ejaculation.
Just see a recommended doctor. And make sure they use a good dose of anesthesia. When doc was cauterizing mine it wasn't numb enough. Ouch.

No, I haven't gone through it. I think it'd be wise to consult with an implant surgeon. The previous poster said a vasectomy doesn't affect the imlant. That's true. But the procedure can. Any time someone is sticking a needle in your testicles, they risk puncturing the implant. I'm in a country where there are almost no implants done so going to hold off until I go somewhere where I can consult an implant surgeon.

I got a vasectomy while getting implanted!
My pedestrian opinion is that it is probably not risky if you are working with an experienced, upscale urologist. In Central America I would spend a little extra to go to one of the fanciest private clinics in the capital or an expat area. They’ll have world-class folks there that will understand the implant and how to avoid damaging it (wealthy Central Americans and gringos certainly have implants). I wouldn’t walk in off the street to a basic clinic that bangs out vasectomies for everyday folks.

49. Implanted 5/21/2024 at Kaiser SSF. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.

Normally a vasectomy is performed with local anesthesia and some sedative. Logically, they are going to give you multiple injections of anesthesia in your testicles, of course you have to inform them and have a doctor who guarantees the necessary care.
Then the doctor makes surgical incisions, with a scalpel or laser, and introduces an instrument to fish the vas deferens, another danger point.
The radiologists have diagnosed me with an enlarged prostate twice, and what they are seeing is the deposit of the implant, I am not worried since my doctor is clear about it. I say this because not all medical personnel know what this is about.
Perhaps a conversation between your implanter and your surgeon would be appropriate.
