My story is very similar to yours.
(Prostatectomy and IPP)
Keep EVERYTHING clean around you.
Disinfecting wipes, hand washing on the regular and don't be afraid to use those pain-killers.
Even the strong ones
I found staying ahead of the pain was the ticket
You'll be in a much better place in about a month.
Follow Doctors orders and keep ice nearby.
