I am thinking of cancelling in next day or two so the surgeon's office has a chance to fill the slot (hopefully) and waiting until I'm more confident. The whole thing scares TF out of me. Besides complications and pain, the "Titans feel like straws in my dick" is giving me pause. My biggest fear, perhaps irrational, is ending up with a totally non-functional penis.
I know I've got to make this judgement on my own, and soon, but I guess I'm looking for moral support or at least guidance on what to expect. Besides the doctors, I have very few people IRL to discuss with.

Have you tried injections? They work but do become hit and Miss after sometime. I think everyone has fears about getting an implant but 99% say they should have done it years ago.
It has been the best thing I have ever done and would not hesitate in getting it done again.

To be honest, an implanted penis will never be as good as a healthy, fully-functioning one. It will, however, get the job done as often as you please. I had the same reservations, postponing the surgery several times before resigning myself to the fact that if I wanted to have sex with a person then it was the only viable alternative. I tried the injections (and developed Peyronies shortly afterwards) but the veinous leak prevented erections that lasted more than a minute. The only real post-operative pain I had was when I awoke from surgery, but the nurse quickly injected pain killers and I was good to go. I wish I had done this instead of injections, but the delay allowed me to find this group and a top-notch surgeon.

I am kind of in the same boat.....I will be seeing a Dr. in August.......I am going to do it though....i am 60 and am running out of time...what ? am I going to wait until I am 70 ?........I have veinous leakage and i am a worthless as far as being with a woman now....I do not want the surgery and worry about the maybe bad side effects, but without the surgery i can not even jack off anymore with my limp cock...i do not want to be the guy in 10 years wondering "Maybe I should have done it".....if you have gone to all the trouble and nothing else works what choice do you have....thank goodness we have the bionic cocks we have now...if this was 1964 you would not even have a choice....i guess you can go by Frank Talk and from what i read it is hard to find a guy who has regretted it....even the guys who had tube failures get it done again without saying bad things about the device....good luck to u brother....

I absolutely love my new cock. I love that it always just works, no matter what. I love the psychological effect that has on me. I know that it will always just work, no matter what. It is a little different than it was. I have a Titan, and if I drain it completely, it does have a little bit of a "crinkly" feel. I typically drain it fully like that when I plan to keep it in my pants, and especially in thin pants or bathing suit where it might show. In situations where it might come out, I plump it up a little ahead of time, more as the evening goes on.
Look, every surgery has some risk. So I suppose that you might have a problem. But in most cases it simply works perfectly the first time. Well, if you are a long time lurker, you may have read some of my dissertations before. I will apologize in advance for my lack of brevity. I never apologize for being blunt, occasionally crude, and painfully honest.
Except for the gay part, and the being 50 part, I think you and I have been in exactly the same place. I have always been quite capable of generating a really good erection. What I have never been able to do is sustain it for more than a minute or two without violent levels of stimulation. This became painfully obvious after I had been married for a short while, and led to me being diagnosed with organic ED in 1987 back then there were no pills, just injections so over the last 37 years I have been the beneficiary of all the ED therapies medical science has had to offer.

Think about first day of school, first day in a new job, first time I jumped out of an airplane. All of these represent a fear of the unknown. You might talk to the doctor. If an implant is destiny, there is no merit in delay. I’m not sure that I agree totally with your doctors view of titan versus AMS products but those are opinions & that’s why you pay the doctor - for his expertise in determining what is best for you based upon your anatomy. Right now, I don’t think it would be possible for anything to outperform the reliability and natural appearance of this LGX. Trust me when I say it is plenty rigid and stable. But who knows what I will want them to do years down the road when I wear this one out.

Execute an informal decision making process. Write things down. Gather the facts. List the pros and cons. Consider any alternatives. Develop a bunch of pertinent questions and take those to the doc. Review all of this information, and only then make an informed decision.

If you are not confident then don't do it. And your fear of ending up with a non-functional penis is not irrational. The chances are statistically low, but exist.
I canceled a procedure in 2022 at the age of 48. Now I am 50 and a bit more ready to take the irreversible plunge. I have a surgery scheduled in December
I also am wary of the Titan and plan on the AMS CX. If your doctor doesn't give you a choice and says he only does one I would see another doctor.
Does anyone know if Eid does AMS at all?

Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is sexual health expert Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. I also have mild BPH

I believe dr. EID will do either AMS or Titan. He will decide when he tests you. For me he went with Titan because of my girth, and I decided ahead of time to do what he recommended
