How much correction of curvature noted after implant.

Postby Manoso » Fri Aug 02, 2024 12:54 pm

I am a 62 year old man with ED for decades and 1 year of Peyronies with a 70 degree upward bend using traction therapy and vacuum pump device. I am going to try Xiaflex next month and if it doesn’t work an implant. My Urologist states he would insert the implant and the perform modeling at that time to correct the bend. I’m wondering if anyone has had the implant with Peyronies experience and how happy are you with the correction of your bend with the implant.

i would seek out another opinion for surgeon that does more implants and peyronie's disease. My first surgery left me shorter (also had some peyronie's and told it would improve with the implant), but it didn't completely. Things were better but not as promised.

My second surgery, they cut the plaque and scar. This is the technique that should be done at the initial operation to optimize length/girth with the implant. There are only certain surgeons that do this because its delicate work and adds time to the surgery.

Plication stitch surgeries can lead to shortening with the implant and other problems. The modeling or bending technique is really only good for mild curvature is my understanding.

With 70 degrees, you probably need what I had.

I had a 90 deg downward curve due to peyronie's..
I have the titan because Dr suggested that for peyronie's..
Removed plaque and scar tissue during surgery. I only have about a 10 deg curve now

Dude-

Don’t even waste your time with that injection stuff. It will absolutely cause more problems and you’ll still need an implant.

Go to a doctor like Eid or Clavell (I used Clavell) and he will fix you up. I had 30 degree with narrowing and my implant fixed it. I’m straight- got my length back and girth back. If you have a lot of scarring and curve, they can do the scratch technique while doing the implant and you will be very very happy.

I agree w Sammy, at your age just get er done. The peyronies will be greatly improved ( mine was) and over the next few years it continues to improve, now I have no curve and I m sporting a Lgx. Lgx is not the best for peyronies remodeling but it worked.
Good luck bro

I had about 50% upward bend from PD with a bad hinge and hour glassing. My penis is now straight. Due to the PD my surgeon used an infrapubic incision to better access the scar tissue.
I did lose about .5” in length butI dont care, my penis is now usable… He like many surgeons dealing with PD patients used a Titan implant
Dr Hakky did a great job explaining what he was doing and why. Hes a good surgeon and I would go to him again without consulting anyone else.
