Would you rather have 8.25 x 6.5 dick that just doesn't work, or say a 6x5 that will work every time and for as long as the both of you can stand it? And the last set of numbers I just pulled out or the air. With a good Dr the loss should be minimal. But again, what good is a 8 or 9 or 10 inch dick that won't get hard( other than bragging rights, and if I had one that size you dang well bet I would be) compared to a 6 or 7 inch one that does work?
What ever your decision, I wish you all the luck in the world.

Yeah I totally get it - doesn't stop it from sucking though. Just wish life would stop throwing me curveballs for once. I've had enough 'setbacks' in life that this was just an additional setback I didn't want / need. Sure it could have been worse or could be worse, that doesn't take the sting away.

Appreciate it though.

Sorry about your situation. I never had prostrate problems, just the usual weakening of erections as I aged. Pills worked for a while, injections worked for a while. Have to say my recovery was tough but I'd do it again if needed. Love the fact that the implant offers anytime, anywhere satisfaction guaranteed. I did lose some length waiting so long to get the implant, if that is a concern, get it done asap.

Yeah I won't be waiting any longer than I have to. I did check - my insurance SHOULD cover it as long as my docs write it up properly.

The doc in question said he wants to wait for the 'minimum' of one year after the RP - which will be in July - I've waited this long - a little longer wont kill me - and I AM doing injections - they just are not enjoyable at all.

Hey all -

So it's been a while and thought I would update. Injections are NOT for me. The pain has been, well, a pain really. In the last year or so I've penetrated my partner twice - neither were fun experiences. Add into that I've develped a downward curve. Considering I used to curve up and left a bit but now have a 15 degree downward curve - well...its not fun. Add in that only injections get me stable erections which are painful and all that (VED will get me hard, but I can't stay hard without injections) and we're getting into the final stretch for an implant.

I met with my Dr (Segal - Chesapeake Urology) and had a dopplar and examination to be sure the scarring wasn't too bad. I have a venous leak - so...implant is going to be the way to go. We had a long discussion about implants and the Coloplast Titan will probably be the way I'll go due to my physiology. Aparently while 'soft' my head is smaller than others - it broadens out during arousal - but smaller tips are needed for that otherwise it can cause discomfort - and the Coloplast has smaller tips (than the AMS anyway). That and girth - well - the Titan has that by a bit.

So I'll be having one more check for scarring in Sept before we move forward due to some unusual narrowing at the base - unknown whats caused that. Hopefully my insurance will cover it - I have United Health. I hear they do - but out of pocket might be high on my plan. Unknown as of yet.

Mentally - this sucks. I didn't ask for cancer and was perfectly functioning a year ago. I keep telling myself "at least I don't have cancer anymore" (all clear on that BTW) but it still sucks. At least I'll be 'functional' after this - even if its smaller / thinner all of that. Trying to look on the bright side anyway.... :|

equusAz wrote:Hey all!

A little background. 48yo, diagnosed with prostate cancer in March of last year (just about a year ago). Long story short, I went the RP route. During the surgery they removed one of my nerves as they thought the nerve might have been affected by the cancer. Luckily it wasn't and so far - I remain cancer free. However...the ED.

Prior to the cancer I was a perfectly healthy guy with normal erections. I did develop SOME slight ED prior (may have been due to the cancer - unknown) which was easily treated with cialis. Now?

I have absolutely nothing going on. I have been doing vac therapy with very little success. Due to my girth most pumps are a bit tricky but I have stuck with it, but can't maintain an erection. I have been taking daily tadalafil which was switched to cialis. Doc gave me the option of trying up to five cialis a day (one in the morning and four prior to intercourse) and they don't do didlly for me. I may get a very slight chub.

Enter bimix. I had somewhat better results, though I find the injections painful (not the injection itself - but the effects of it). Yeah I do get hard, but not fully and I did up my injection amount to 30 units. I get an 'OK' erection, but it doesn't stay long. Now add the cherry to the top, I've develped Pyronie's. The curve is a downward curve, and it is painful - discomfort along with pain behind the head.

My primary urologist at Chesapeake Urology in Baltimore refered me to a 'specialist' in the same clinic. He did an examination and basicly told me the following. With the lack of success with pills, and only seeing results with bimix, add in that I now have a pretty drastic painful curve, I should really consider an implant as he can fixe the curve and the ED all in one swoop. Even without the ED I'd need surgery to fix the curve.

I'm less than thrilled by this. I really don't feel like bragging but I was absolutely not an average size guy (8.25x6.25 - and not inflated inches haha - real measured). From what I've read on here I have a couple of options but probably the best would be the Coloplast...right? Anyone have good results who were near my size - either girth or length? I definitely am a bit upset that I'll be losing size as I enjoyed that bit of my physiology.

I haven't had intercourse (insertive) since before my RP and I'm totally bummed out. Just looking to bitch about my situation and comiserate as well as guidance.

I've walked in your shoes.
I did the pills/shots for about 60 days with minimum results.
"Squishy" erection at very best. In fact when I tried the shots 90% of the solution it would just pour out of the head of my penis because if you go too deep with those needles you end up "peeing" it out anyway.

Complete waste of time and money.(For me) Theres still a small dent in my drywall when I smashed my fist into the bathroom door because I became so enraged and frustrated with those pointless shots.

I just am so thankful I went the IPP route.
ALL those headaches ended when I left the hospital.

I would encourage you to do the same.

Best wishes.

The techniques used by doctors try to minimize losses, but there are limitations both in the technology and in the way our body reacts.
My measurements were a little wider and a little shorter than yours, I lost a little in both, more in the thickness, which has more limitations.

I gained a functional penis. (very functional ||| :D )

As for the length, I don't know if it depends on whether one was a grower or a shower, I was a grower and that was what the stretching in the operating room gave.

I am attaching a photo of the diameters of the different cylinders.

I have United Health and they did pay for my implant. Co-pay was near $3,500.
Did the pills for a couple years, then the injections for a couple years. Four years after implant I ended up with bladder cancer. Never had so many things stuck up my dick.
Anyway, just do it. Move forward until you have it fixed. The mental stress alone is enough to cause depression.
Best of luck
