Ok thank u for your information. If u had the choice again would u use your surgeon or Dr. Eid. Miami is easier to get to for me to get to but NY would not be a problem.

Personally I would get my surgery from Dr. Eid. He was and is my first choice surgeon.

Update: 18 months since surgery

Postby atul21 » Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:48 am

Hello FT members,

I completed my 18 months since surgery few days back. Time flies and it flies super fast!
The implant works great and now it is just a muscle memory to get it inflated and deflated. I only inflate it for having sex which happens 1-2 times in 15 days or so. My usage has been low since few months but I anticipate it to increase a lot as I am now dating someone steady and plan to marry her soon.
The implant itself feels fine overall but the usual discomfort while sleeping remains. The dog ear is a reality and I am now fine with it. It is more prominent for me as I make sure I deflate myself to the max. This was advised to me by Dr. Eid and Dr. Cordon both. I mention this because I have read many posts where men say that they like to stay inflated.
Eating cialis 10 mg on day of intercourse works very well for engorgement. Surprisingly I get some morning wood as well.

I am glad that now I have started focusing on other important things in life and have this beast behind me. Earlier all I would do is think and worry about my ED. I get few DM’s here and on reddit and I try to help other men by sharing my experience.

Feel free to message me if you need someone to talk!

Can you elaborate on your sleeping discomfort?

I have written about it earlier as well. I am a side sleeper and during my sleep I feel the pump digs into the perineum area and causes mild pain and discomfort. I am more worries about this becoming a point of failure in the future.

Congrats!
Can you elaborate a bit on why Dr. Eid and Dr. Cordon both suggested deflating to the max? Thanks.

Atul
I have been reading your journal, what a story! and all the support posts are amazing (especially Thailand).
I would love to be where you are. I am in my 17th day post surgery and still dealing with quite a bit of pain, no swelling. My pain is directly associated with activity. I can't be vertical for very long before the pain comes.
I have pushed it (and maybe I shouldn't) like yesterday I walked a mile and I mean walk like at a high tempo and then paid for it the rest of the day having to constantly ice to calm things down some. For a week now I have been taking 2 pain meds per day, one around lunch time the other at about six thirty pm.
I sleep fine and find that being horizontal actually has a calming effect. It really helps to read on this board. I am amazed at how different this surgery is for everyone from no pain to extreme.
I have not had a WTF have I done moment but must admit I've been close.
Thanks for your taking the time to write this journal and I hope you know that it is very helpful. I am certain there are many who just read and do not comment. The insight is extremely helpful and very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot for the kind words JK. Everyone here has a story and reading other’s struggles makes you feel that you are not alone. Franktalk gave me so much strength and motivation that I can’t thank it enough.
I see you have pain when you do some physical activity. That is normal. Have you started cycling? I used to get a lot of pain during deflation. I also read that you continue to ice even after 17 days. I am not sure if that helps cos my surgeon advised me to ice only for 3 days and then move to a heat pad. You might want to speak to your surgeon about it. I wish you the best.
