My countdown begins...sort of

Well I had a great appointment with my surgeon today and we've scheduled my procedure for 2.3.14. He spent a lot of time answering my questions and discussing various aspects of the surgery. I took with me 8"x10" photos of my member showing the bone pressed length and my girth, which after finding a ruler and actually measuring my stretched length, he confirmed should be possible to recreate. He seemed impressed that I have been doing daily VED therapy for almost 4 months now and also recommended traction therapy, with something like a fastsize or andropenis stretching device, as possibly more useful than a VED if available. He suggested that I was a perfect candidate for the LGX and that if I followed a post surgery inflation protocol I would be very likely to recover all of my size lost to atrophy. Its less than 3 weeks till my membership in the BBB becomes official and I am very thankful for this site and all the men who give of themselves to answer questions, encourage and reassure others in this trying position, may you all be blessed for your effort on behalf of your fellow men, thank you.

Great to hear your plans are coming together. I'm still working out penile injection therapies but have been gathering info on implanting. What caught my eye here & caused me to want to respond is by reading what you have done with the Dr. I have been reading all these implant posts and always said to myself couldn't someone take great steps to prepare & the extra effort like documenting ones size & hammer home expectations for the implant results. I decided there would be know way I would put myself through so much unless it was a win-win all around. Like many pre implant folks I too have been VED'ing like crazy with Augusta med pump & a bath mate which keeps the girth up. I plan to buy an extender but finding a truly worthy model seems more difficult than with my VED purchase. With a sound plan in place your results should meet your expectations. I have been following some recent implanters who seem to be progressing well so I guess knowledge is truly power. Good luck next month.

Thanks trucx, when I first pulled out the pictures the doctor said "you know that this will not be a natural erection, it won't be as large, it will only be as long as your flaccid stretched length, approximately". I told him that I understood that and that I have been doing manual stretches for years, pulling my penis under my thigh and or buttocks and sitting on it in bed at night while watching TV or reading, to allow me to urinate through my mild stricture and that I have been using the VA supplied Osbon manual vacuum pump for at least 4 months now to restore/ stretch out my cavernosa in preparation for the implant. I also brought him a number of articles that I had printed discussing the New Length Measurement technique, pre-op pumping, installing the largest LGX cylinders possible by doing the corporal measurements from the same point on the corporal incision as opposed to measuring from the distal and then proximal point on the corpora incision, and also discussing early post op cycling to the max working up to an hour each day, (it seems that it is too painful to pump to the max for more than 5-10 minutes at first), for a minimum of 6 months to achieve the maximum size that your body will allow. He mentioned that he was aware of most of what I was sharing and agreed with what was in the articles. He also asked me to leave some of the information with him so that he could review it as it sounded promising to him. Needless to say I came away from the appointment very impressed with this doctor,I hope and pray the 1 month from now I'm just as impressed.
After all of that I told him that I still felt that he should be able to give me back my full size, at which point he went to find a ruler from one of the secretaries, when he got back he measured my penis and agreed that restoring my full size would be very likely especially with the expansion properties of the LGX. He also mentioned that all of my pre op prep was what would make it most likely to happen. Again thanks for your encouragement, be good, peace...

I sure bet you're anxious for Feb 3. I hope everything goes good for you. I had my AMS 700MS LGX implanted on August 6, 2013 so it's been 5 months+ and I am SO HAPPY with the results. My stretch length at the beginning of surgery was 4-1/2" in length and at 5 months I can easily inflate my penis to 6-1/4" length by 5-1/2" girth. And the sensitivity of my glans (head of penis) has finally returned and it is wonderful to have sex or masturbate and be able to ejaculate like normal. The pain was very manageable with meds for the first four days and then I just used OTC meds to control pain after that. Bruising was greatest on day 3 but had disappeared by day 8. The doctor implanted a total of 19cm (15 cm cylinders + 4cm tips) on each side. He left me fully inflated for 3 days and then completely deflated me and had me stay that way for 4 weeks. Then he fully inflated it as much as he could in the office (4-3/4" length) and had me start inflating as much as I could everyday and keep my penis inflated for 1 hour before I deflated. I did this 1 - 2 each day and I still keep trying to continue to stretch even more each morning when I take my shower.

Do you think that doing daily VED exercises before surgery really help? My Dr. asked me to do it twice a day and hold it for 15 min each time... having a hard time finding the time to do it and not sure how much difference it will make. My surgery is scheduled for Mach 4th, 2014.

Hey Gf, I had tried to post a reply but I just kept getting kicked back to the sign in page so I decided to send you a PM. Yes, VED therapy does restore size, at least size lost to atrophy from a lack of circulation and natural erections. I've also done manual stretching for quite some time but my real size restoration has come about through Vacuum pumping. I've done 40-45 minutes a day almost every day for about/over 4 months, and twice a day when possible. I'm still about 1/2 inch shy of where I once was but I have regained roughly an inch and a half of lost length and over a half an inch in lost girth. just be patient with it, you don't want to give yourself blood and or water blisters. I started out by pumping to about 80% of a full erection and holding for 2 minutes and then releasing for one minute. I did this for about ten minutes and then over the next five slowly increased pressure with each cycle till I was at full erection at which point I would cycle up and down for a minute each. After about 6-7 weeks of pumping like this I began to just pump it to full erection,slowly, maybe over five minutes time and then just leaving it at full pump with a 1 minute release of pressure about every ten minutes or so. this is how I'm still doing it in preparation for my surgery on 2.3.14. I hope that this helped you out and feel free to post this on the forum if you wish, be good, peace...

Hello All, well the 3rd day of the 2nd month has long come and gone and I'm still waiting on an implant. It seems that the surgical resident who entered my appointment information onto the VA's two computer systems entered the information correctly into the national VA computer network but the separate non network connected computer, which the hospital follows to log procedures had the incorrect date input by the surgical resident/assistant. Thankfully that resident will be having nothing to do with my actual surgery. Well I was informed at the end of my pre-op appointment on 1.31.14, when the nurse that did the pre-op procedure called the O.R. to get an actual time for my procedure, and after getting an ekg, a chest x-ray and blood and urine workups, was informed that my surgery was put off till 3.3.14 as there was some kind of mix up. I wasn't very happy, to say the least but, one more month, arrgghh.
At this point I'm just getting sick of the time i spend each day in a traction devise and pump. I was Soooo looking forward to never using either of them ever again. Not that they didn't give me back my old/lost size, because they did. But it seems that stopping them for just a few days has negative consequences in regard to ones size. Keep in mind that at this point without considerable assistance my penis is pretty much a skin tag through which I urinate.
All of which brings me to this evening, this evening when I received a phone call from the VA hospital. They called to apologize but, they were canceling my surgery that was scheduled for 3.3.14. While not having been rescheduled at this time I was informed that the procedure could take place no sooner than the 31st of this month as the staff would not be available before that time. I'll try to contact someone on Monday to reschedule, but since they canceled my op due to the weather forecast, it may be a day or three before I can reach someone to coordinate this thing once and for all! I realize that everything happens for a reason, its just that sometimes "everything" can be a bit irritating when it's not going as you've planned, but such is life. Be good all, peace
