Spitting stitches
I’m almost six weeks out from surgery. About two weeks ago noticed a small white thread/stitch protruding from an area on my incision line. The area around it was raised and tender. Saw surgeon about it. Said it’s normal, and would eventually come out or dissolve. Now there is an open sore area around it. It slowly is leaking small amounts of blood. Is this something to worry about? Going back in tomorrow.

had the same thing put Neosporin on it few times a day it will stop seeping in time ...
Re: Spitting stitches
I had similar, not the stitch. But at 8 days I started bleeding and oozing. It was the first signs of infection. Get back to your doctor

Re: Spitting stitches
Saw doctor today. He pulled the stitch out. Said had some possibility about to come out on other side of incision. Said no signs of infection, but put me on two antibiotics as a precaution.

Re: Spitting stitches
Back again. Area where stitch was spitting and doctor pulled out looking better. Now other side of incision area seeping clear fluid and blood. That area has been raised and hard feeling. Surgeon said that is an area where he put a lot of stitches. I don’t see a stitch sticking out there, so not sure why leaking fluids. I’m 6 weeks + out from placement of a tactra malleable. Surgeon put me on bactrim and keflex even though he did think anything looked infected. He said he did as a preventative? I’m not seeing any pus. Still worried. Will all this issues ever resolve?
