How long did it take to get your revision?

Postby Hope84 » Tue Oct 01, 2024 3:00 pm

Hi all,

I am creating a poll to see how long on average it takes to get a replacement following a dysfunction with an implant. If you could give some color on the following, this would be very useful:
1) how long it took to be able to have sex again following the revision surgery?
2) what was your state of mind following the implant failure (how stressed/panicked were you, whether you approached the situation calmly, whether you felt prepared for this or not)?
3) how much size compared to just before the failure did you lose, AFTER you finished the cycling process and everything settled down?

Thanks in advance,
30 years old French with ED caused by priapism episodes at the age of 15. Pills have lost most of their potency, injections work but are painful and not a long-term solution. Scheduled for an AMS 700 CX on 05/12/2024.

1)- about 3 weeks but was careful, not the best but was happy as hell that it worked.

2)-it through me for a loop, failure occured March 2024, went through some emotional shit as my dick was just a limp noodle, used vacuum devices and just watch it immediately go back to limp noodle. Original surgeon would have been October or later for revision, researched local urologist and spoke with all mfgs, Coloplast, Rigicon, and Boston Scientific and used their centers of excellence to determine who I would talk with as well as looking up their medical complaints and backgrounds. Very happy who I went with as well as the AMS LGX

3)- I did not lose any size in both length and girth, I can honestly say that I think it has gotten a little fuller. Haven't put a tape measure on it recently but it feels like it and my wife seems to think so as well. Love our sex...

Took me from Feb 2024 when I pointed out that one of the rods in my Rigicon implant was shifting till 6-2024 to get any action to get a revision due to it being undersized ..

I was somewhat lucky in that my leak was between the reservoir and pump. When I realized I was no longer able to fully pump, I was able to leave it 70% hard for the 4 months span to my revision. I was 8” when they put me under. When I came out of surgery I was a fraction over 6”. Can’t blame that on atrophy. Implant up sized by 2cm so not sure why so much length loss.

Thanks for your answers. I thought there would be more reaction though!

Did you lose 2inch permanently or did it recover?

So the average time to get a revision seems to be around 2/3 months, higher than I expected. I wonder how much of this relates to administrative issues (get the green light from insurance), as opposed to the actual waiting time to get a slot for surgery?

Mine was damaged by Dr in Peoria IL during a UROFILL treatment last week. He poked a hole in the left cylinder and now I can get four pumps before the pump deflates. I'm scheduled for a revision on 10/25/24 by the same Dr. After reading his reviews (which I should have done before driving 3.5 hours) and his hand slipping and ruining my implant, I'm wary about going back to him. He's 77 and I afraid of his hand slipping and cutting my dorsal nerve etc...he changed his glasses during the UROFILL after he poked the implant which bled too. I'm talking to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester to arrange a revision by Dr Kohler instead.

I'm not sure how to deal with this Doctor ruining my implant. He offered to do without charging a fee but he did take my $2100 for the UROFILL treatment. So I'm throwing this out to you guys. Would you seek legal remedies?
Thanks
