Sitting in an office chair?

Postby kernels » Mon Sep 30, 2024 3:20 pm

Had surgery Sept 20th which is about 10 days ago and thankfully able to work from home. Sitting in a regular chair is just too painful after a few minutes which has me wondering how long before that discomfort goes away? Hoping to return to work (in office) next week but thought I would check with you guys.

You might want to try sitting on a neck pillow or donut pillow, as some find it helpful.

Uncooked popcorn frozen works well 2 bags one to use one to keep freezing keep switching them back and forth unlike ice backs will do no tissue damage and very pliable

It took 3-4 weeks to be able to sit upright in my desk chair. And even then, only for a while. Give your body time to heal, and don’t do anything that causes pain. If your desk chair hurts, you’re not ready yet. You’ll get there in time!

To me.....sitting in a chair within 4 weeks was out of the question. I had to start out with a donut pillow. The front part (scrotum) area of the pillow I cut it out, so my balls would have space to drop. That indention in the donut pillow was not enough space for my balls to drop. I was still on ice, off and on,. Ice was my best friend for a long time, maybe several months. Then during and after I learned to cycle, hot showers were my best friend. Could not cycle without a hot shower on the balls first.
