So, even though I’m feeling anything but that, I am now officially in the bionic brotherhood.
I guess I’ll say surgery day was day 0, so I’m writing this on day 1. Long story short, it sucks. I didn’t imagine the pain being what it has been, but I guess I’ll get to that later.
The plane ride also sucked. I have a bit of a bad back so being in an economy seat for 8 hours did me no favors. It was purely the grace of God, especially considering this oversized guy behind me not allowing my seat to recline.
On top of that, the airline left my luggage in Miami. So, here I am in Istanbul with no clothes! Thankfully, I was set to spend the first few days in a hospital gown anyway, and all my essentials were with me in my carryon.
Nasimi has been wonderful. He’s a genuinely nice guy that really seeks to make you feel comfortable and guides you through the process. He even went out and bought me an outfit and pizza (the hospital food is really bad). It was worth the extra $1500 to have this arranged by him at the hospital instead of direct with Rigicon.
So, I met with Dr. Karaman yesterday a few minutes before surgery. Pleasant guy.
I woke up after surgery and heard him say he went with 22cm + 1 rte. I thought, “that can’t be right!” I don’t know how the math works out over time, but I hope I get back to my 7.5”. I already lost length back when I had the plication, and who knows how much over the time of having ED. I did quite a bit of pumping and stretching to get back to that 7.5” I had just before surgery. I guess time will tell.
I will say the immediate regret came as I started struggling with the pain. I thought, “was this even worth it?” And “maybe I should have just stuck with it as it was”. Yet…none of these thoughts mattered at this point, so I shall press on and pray for the best.
The catheter removal was not fun and neither was trying to pee afterwards. I still don’t have a steady stream of piss. It’s more like cocking a shotgun and shooting over and over (buckshots of piss everywhere).
The pain is subsiding a bit, but there is still an uncomfortable ache in my nuts. I’ll certainly ice when I get back to the hotel. The hotel is nice, by the way.
I’ll be discharged in the morning. I couldn’t imagine leaving tomorrow and thankfully I won’t be. But, who knows, maybe I’ll feel a lot better by then. We shall see.
Not having gone #2 is a bit concerning, but I have my Senekot now that my luggage has arrived, so I’ll take some tonight and hopefully unload tomorrow.
