Watch the videos on you tube by perito and Eid! It becomes very clear about measuring. Also they use saline with a big syringe. If you watch on Perito video he uses two hands to pressurize the saline solution as much as possible which stretches out your tissue as much as it will stretch. Immediately after stretching they cut into the cavernosa and measure using this dialator tool and again Perito grabs the head of the penis and pulls and pushes with the measuring tool to get as accurate measurements as possible. This is another example of why you should use a highly experienced high volume surgeon. They have seen the results of what they do and know what works over hundreds of times per year and in some cases thousands of times in their carrier’s. I think Perito states that a if any surgeon uses a stretch test to estimate anything they are not worth using in one of his videos. The other time I remember him saying I. One of his videos is that you can stretch it as far as you can pull it and that’s the length that you should be.
Using a VED for several months prior to surgery makes a lot of sense and is recommended by most high volume surgeons.

Rider 1400:

All this is new to me. I'm familiar with Eid; never heard of Perito. I've actually watched a few of Kramer's videos and I am giving him serious consideration: he sounds like he's just as concerned with cosmesis as he is with function, which I think should be required of any doctor performing such a procedure.

What's the point of the VED?

Please do more research on Kramer. I'm not saying he isn't good but some members had issues. Plus he left his original practice under vague circumstances. Just make sure that you're comfortable with him before commiting to using him.

Thanks for the advice; yeah, I'll definitely look into him. One of the perks is that he'll accept my insurance. Eid is closer, literally a state over from me, but his office never responded to my insurance query.

Rider 1400 suggested a VED device prior to surgery. I've heard others say this, but can't see the reasoning. Is this to lengthen the penis? I didn't think a VED could do that.

F1,
My urologist/surgeon recommended the use of a VED prior to implant surgery. With the lack of erections there is a lack of blood flow to the penis. Approx. 5 weeks prior to the procedure, twice a day, for 15 -20 minutes each time, using the VED to no more than 5" of vacuum, to increase blood flow in and out of the penis. Stopping 1 week prior to surgery, to avoid hematomas (bruising).

Saying all that, I did experience an increase in length and a large increase in girth.

Okay, so it does have practical utility. I was starting to think it was merely anecdotal.

Yeah I had the same thing ! I had hard flaccid too. Isn’t it weird even men in India are affected by it?

My stretch test was over 2 inches shorter than my final length. I also don’t think they need to do an artificial erection. I don’t think Kramer did one for you, did he?

So far everyone's feedback has been encouraging.

Like I said, I don't have your typical ED, either vascular or diabetes related, but a strange, contractile condition that only now is just starting to be recognized. Because of this, if I try to stretch the flaccid, the contraction literally fights against me and starts to retract the penis. It's very strange; probably a hyperactive nerve or something (https://auanews.net/issues/articles/2023/may-2023/hard-flaccid-syndrome-proposed-to-be-secondary-to-pathological-activation-of-a-pelvic/pudendal-hypogastric-reflex). But who knows; maybe a doctor would be able to aggressively stretch it out more.

Once again, thanks for the response!

I get a penile spasm in the doctor’s office. The base of my penis basically contracts into a knot due to nerves. It literally takes off 1-3 inches from the stretch test compared to stretching it at home relaxed but even at home there is some knot too. A little massage trick that works for muscle knots in general and in this case too: Pressing on the knotted area of my dick will actually cause it to relax in under a minute and hang much longer, so I periodically do that at home, but you can’t really do that when you’re trying to get aroused.

Apparently spinal anesthesia relaxes that but I’m scared of spinal injections (I had a serious long term nerve injury from a bungled spinal injection years ago so I just can’t take that risk). I don’t know if regular anesthesia necessarily does the same. If so, why do some doctors do tge spinal on top of the regular?
