It comes from textbooks and generally accepted literature on human anatomy & physiology.
I am not quoting but what I read was something to this effect “most men have between 1/3 and 1/4 of their penis behind the pubic bone therefore between 2/3 and 3/4 of their penis is forward of the pubic bone (therefore usable during copulation).
It never said all men. It said most. Or typical. Lots of guys with very deep crus. Equally large numbers of guys with shallow crus.
The use of the 2/3-3/4 rule is a quick and dirty way to guesstimate what a guy might expect after an implant. It’s based on typical anatomies. Most guys have typical anatomies. That being the case, a guy with a 21 cm implant would expect to have a dock between 5.9 inches & 6.6 inches after healing up and cycling.
Obviously there are some guys with 21 cm implants who are bigger or smaller than the range of typical. It doesn’t mean they’re abnormal-it means that their crus is a bit deeper or shallower than is typical.
Now, back to our original poster. He had a 5.5” cock. Perfectly normal. They have installed in him a 21 cm implant. So far so good. If he has a deep crus and the cylinders fit all is well. Now that he’s cycling he’s seeing some bumps and things that have caused concern. He has noticed that most guys with a 21 cm implant report being a bit larger. Both of those are reasons for concern but not panic.
What I think would be wise is evaluation by a different surgeon and maybe do some imaging. But there’s no cause for alarm. I would let things heal up good, see how things went. But I wouldn’t let it go without addressing it. Being oversized has the potential to cause some issues you really don’t want to deal with ie erosion.
Again: it’s not time to freak. Nobody on this board knows if the patient was oversized. His doctor says he wasn’t. The arithmetic predictors suggesting he’s got a large implant for an average cock are just rules of thumb and don’t apply universally.
Like anything else affecting your health…if, after an implant you see something that doesn’t seem quite right, it needs to be thoroughly checked out. But getting frantic and worrying about what so-and-so said on the internet is a uniformly bad way to handle it.
