Pump twisted

Postby jakerip » Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:30 pm

Anybody experience their pump turning sideways? I can still deflate by manually turning it, but it’s a pain. I’m concerned about it twisting up tubes or becoming a bigger issue somehow. Advice?

Mine used to rotate around. Like you say easy to turn how you want it. Not really a problem for me nor did it develop into anything else. I am Not a doctor, and you may want to contact yours.

Hey newbie443,

Different but related question. In the beginning, did you have problems with your fingers sliding off the pump? I ask because this happens to me periodically while pumping, and it sometimes freaks me out, like the tubing will get damaged or something.

I would hope that consideration for that kind of thing went into the design, but who knows? I would like to think that the pump is somewhat resilient. I have this image in my mind that it's nothing more than a piece of cheap plastic, and that doesn't really inspire confidence.

Yes. The pump will soften as will the cylinders as you use it. And you will improve with pumping. For the most part you cannot break it unless you are trying to.

Jakerip, I have the AMS 700 LGX with the MS pump.
It does turn sideways sometimes but it has never caused a problem.
I’m an avid cyclist, so it will turn to find a comfortable place while I’m riding, but afterwards I can pull it back down into place.
I’ve had mine for 3 years and this has never caused a problem.

Good Luck,
SWorks
