AMS + Tenacio pump journey

Postby Motorheadrulz » Sun Oct 13, 2024 10:09 am

So after 4 yrs of failing all the usual methods of pills, pumps, and injections, I've decided to go robocock. I'm scheduled for the AMS and have requested the Tenacio pump.
At my consult in July I expressed this, and sent a reminder so they could order it (they acknowledged my request). Most drs rely on an AMS rep to deliver the equipment on the day of surgery- so hopefully the rep has what I want in stock. And before you ask, he only installs AMS so there was no other choice; but after researching and working with the same uro for 10+ yrs, I was happy with the choice.

I've been pumping 2x/day and taking 5mg cialis since the consult. I plan to keep on the cialis after surgery to help healing. I don't really care about trying to get a horse cock with the implant, but would like to at least regain the ~2" I've lost since the RPP in 2020.

I offered my wife a choice between an AMS or a Corvette, and she chose the implant. I didn't expect that...

I'm not looking forward to the surgery, but no pain = no gain. I'm concerned about decreased sensitivity due to further nerve damage, but hopefully that will correct itself over time. I'm still numb along my left side since the RPP.

There is not a lot of useful info on here about the new pump and dudes who have it, so hopefully I can help in the journey. I'll check back with a book report. For those considering this journey- read, read, and read. All the info is available if you take the time to research it.

You might find this thread useful: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=24815&hilit=Tenacio

Pls do share your experience with the new pump, hopefully they’ve addressed the reliability issue with MS pump.

I showed up for my implant surgery, but had to resched the procedure and do not have it yet. I verified prior to my date the surgeon had ordered the Tenacio pump.
So there was a dude in the OR before me getting the AMS + Tenacio, but the surgeon could not inflate the pump during the functional check. He did not want to proceed with me until he consulted with BS and what to do next for the patient. There was only 1 extra kit available and the dude got it. IDK the results yet, but we rescheduled the surgery for a later date. I also do not know which pump I'll be getting, but anything (MS or Ten) is better than nothing.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that in this instance, there was a defective pump installed on the dude. I know these are new and the volume dealers haven't had the time to report any model defections. I fully expect that BS did enough product testing to get FDA approval- the MS has been field tested for decades and I'm sure there were a few defective units. Otherwise, there would be no revisions reported here.

Anybody heard anything similar?

I certainly was hoping for the new tenacio pump but ended up with the MS, this was June and surgeon could not get any. I know it has been approved in Europe for awhile now as well as India, Turkey. I have not read of any issues with them except for your post. I think it will be fine, and I hope my MS pump will be fine. Good luck on your surgery,

Hey man , since you are going to have the tenacio can you tell us anything more about what we know specifically on the topic discussed in this thread? viewtopic.php?f=6&t=25278. 1000 uses is the deal here?

I don't have any info to add. I'm with the majority here and believe it is a typo. Even in product testing by a machine they would have exceeded the 1k cycles probably by 10k cycles.
Cycling 2x/day for 10 yrs = 7300 cycles, so I have to believe they tested at least to a factor of 2x or 3x times this; but then again I'm an engineer and that's how my brain works...

I just hope this was an isolated case of a bad pump and hope no one else has this experience.

When is your surgery scheduled for? keep us posted with the progress.

And by the way, what is the purpose of using cialis after surgery? does the doctor recommend it for any reason, or is it just your own idea?

Cialis increases blood flow, therefore using it after surgery should help with healing and recovery (in theory)…
