My first AMS LGX lasted 7 years . Sex a couple of times a week on average. My theory is that the implant life is related to how much general movement the deflated implant is subjected to rather than how many times it's inflated. Movement from walking, exercising etc causing friction and wear within the multi-layer structure of the cylinder walls in the region of the dog ears. I was jogging 5km every day for the first 4 years of the first implant and I believe that was a key factor in the relatively early failure. AMS uses a multi layer structure with a low friction coating between the layers so it is easy to imagine the dog ears being an eventual failure point.
When inflated hard, the dog ears disappear and there would be little movement between the cylinder layers.

Re: 10 year implant anniversary
the main reason that helps your prosthesis last so many years is the way it is implanted. the pump must be behind the testicles, so that the tubes are hidden and not exposed to friction during sex. if you have the pump in front, especially if you have the titan, it will presumably shorten the life of the implant. the testicles in front of the pump will serve to cushion the shocks of sex. the cylinders must also be inserted correctly and the tips must enter halfway or more inside the glans.
