Implant may not be fully inflating

Postby SunnyPelican » Thu Dec 05, 2024 10:12 am

I was implanted almost a year ago, I had a very rough recovery. The device was working perfect up until a month or 2 ago.

I had some rough sex and the device ended up deflating. The device still pumps but I believe that it’s not getting as hard as it used to. The doctor thinks that I just need to cycle more. Cycling seems to not really work at this point, it feels like the device isn’t properly inflating.

The device is less than a year old. The implant used to get so hard that it would almost hurt (in a good way), now I might get it to that point for a moment but it doesn’t last.

Is there a scan I can do to confirm my suspicions that there is something wrong or another way that will give me a definite answer?

Which implant do you have? If it's a AMS ( Boston Scientifics ) then the valve may not be seating properly and a hot soaking bath or hot tub may help if you go through the cycling motions ( hard fast squeeze to set the pump, pump a few times then press deflate button and squeeze your penis to help move the fluid back through the pump valve and into the reservoir. The Titan ( coloplast ) might be similar. In any case call the manufacturers patient support line and they can help diagnose the issue and possibly come up with a solution. If it pumps up hard then very slowly seems to leak down my first guess would be the valve sticking and seating properly, followed by a possible pinhole leak. But I really think it's just the valve not seating properly and that playing with the pump in a hot tub or if you don't have a tub or hot tub, letting it get warmed up with a heating pad might be your solution. Best of luck and I hope it's just a sticky valve ( it's a known issue with AMS pumps )
