Do I need to have someone come with me on procedure day?

Trying to keep the procedure discrete for obvious reasons. Can I just uber to the hospital and then uber back home after? Will I be able to walk fine?

I'll be doing the procedure with Loh-Doyle of USC. Any feedback or thoughts are appreciated.

If you live close enough to the surgery center to Uber both ways that should be alright. Main thing is they don't want you driving after anesthesia. Walking is going to be alright, but you may have a catheter and drain bag attached along with a big wrapping of bandages. Sweatpants and a long jacket should help cover that up. Good Luck

Same here about discretion. No one at work knows what type of surgery I had done, only that I would be out on FMLA for 6 weeks.

I was implanted by Dr. Clavell in Houston one month ago and luckily live only 3 hours away. I spent two nights there in a hotel and with clearance from the Doc. I drove home the day after surgery. No pain due to a nerve block and made it home with no problems and have been moving around since then.

For my surgery I had to get picked up by a named person, no uber or taxi and someone who would be staying with me overnight. I guess for reasons of anesthesia reaction. I’m not sure if it’s the surgery center my surgeon used making those stipulation.

Call, text, or email your surgeon’s office. Only they know what the surgeon, anesthesiology department, and hospital policy is. Only they can give you the correct answer.

It doesn’t matter what someone here says what they did, or reassures you it will be fine. But your surgeon’s office can tell you for certain.

My surgery center required that someone pick me up. I had to order a professional ambulatory service (basically expensive Uber for medical purposes). They wouldn't allow any Uber pickups.
