Nope, specifically skipped injections.
When I was speaking to my Doc about all the different recommendations I had been reading about how to treat the implant before and after surgery, exercises to do, frequency of cycling, what activities I should not do, etc., he made a comment that has resonated with me ever since. He said something along the lines of "my goal is to make it so you don't think about your penis or otherwise worry about anything to do with it until YOU want to. Just like your natural penis. That's my goal as your urologist".
Although by the time I spoke with him I had already decided to not go the injection route, I thought of all the preparation I had to do to hide my pill usage from my wife so she didn't feel my inability had anything to do with her desirability, dealing with the headaches, backaches and indigestion they eventually caused, the increased dosage, the cost, whether or not I had taken them on an empty stomach or not, if I had taken one too late or to early to be effective at the right time, on and on. Obtaining and using an erection came with MANY other considerations to the point where although my brain wanted to be intimate with my wife in the worst way, I had second thoughts about all the planning and pain it would cause to be able to perform. For the first time in my life I was actually the one that said "not tonight dear".
I certainly didn't want to move from all of that with pills, to then drawing a syringe and injecting my penis with all those similar concerns.
Nope, straight to implant. 18 pumps and I'm ready to go, push a button and it's back to normal. Fantastic.
