Regarding RTE's/Boston vs. Coloplast/Surgen technique

Maybe it's me but it is my impression that Boston implanters use more RTE's than Coloplast implanters.

With the Boston implanters; it seems RTE+3 is relatively common vs. Coclopast implanters.

The record for the Boston that I can recall is RTE+5. I don't seem to notice as much RTE usage with Coloplast.

Does anyone else have a similar impression ? Why would that be ?

Coloplast cylinders are made in 2cm increments. Whereas BS are only available in 3cm increments.

Folks, Newbie443 gives us the real reason. Why do people think RTE's are bad? They are how drs fine tune the cylinder size to more closely match your penis length. How would you like measuring 20cm and having an 18cm implant installed. That would lead to major floppy glans.

Well....do remember that there are more models with Boston than JUST the LGX. I've seen a lot of 18cm+3rte for the LGX - probably because that ends up being a 'one size fits most' kind of thing. When it comes to non length increase implants there is going to be a LOT more variation - especially with Boston due to the 3cm length difference between sizes.
