I had surgery on a Wednesday. They did a bunch of nerve injections during the surgery and gave me a cocktail of non-opioid meds to take. I didn't end up taking any oxys. Thurs and Friday was mostly icing and then into weekend with heat. Back to work for meetings Monday. Wore looser pants and loose sweater. Built in a lot of time to readjust myself throughout the day. I would say the pain aspect was pretty minimal - I've had dental work which was more painful recovery.

I think big consideration would be if you need to do heavy lifting for work - depends on surgeon but they may say light duty for few weeks.
