Possible end of the road

Postby irishguy » Tue Feb 04, 2025 6:33 am

Hello all, I haven't been on this in a long time!!
I will be coming up on 12 years and I think my implant isn't finished yet but it's getting there... I can't pump in as much anymore and the pump at the end stays in collapsed mode!! I can still habe sex with this but it's been a slow decline in the function... still I got 12 years and maybe a while more, which is great really, for the amount I used it!!!
So some help is needed
Has any of you had partial revision like only changing the pump etc??
What would be a good routine to preserve size, should I be using the ved and maybe get a extender and gently have it stretching to avoid any chance of loss of size??
Any other advice would be appreciated

Hello Irishguy, I'm glad that you've got many years out of your implant. I think there are a few guys on here that have had just the pump or the reservoir replaced but I'm not 100 precent.
There have been a handful of guys lately that have went to the malleable implant instead of going back to the inflatable implant and they are having great results. No pump, no reservoir, no pumping up, always ready to go, just bend and go.
I've had my AMS for 3 years now, but if it broke, I'm pretty sure I would replace it with a malleable.
On using something to keep your dick stretched, I used a VED to exercise my dick everyday for 3 months before I got my implant.
I'm sure some other FrankTalk brothers will chime in to give you some help on this.

Have a Rigicon for over a year gld my dr. never talked me into going to an IPP after hearing so many stories about failures on here .. it's all numbers ..and the skills of the surgeon .. and how the implant is used or not used as well as the manufacturer ..
Rigicon since 6-2023 happy to share my experience and do show and tell

Twelve years of use is pretty good. Think of all the sex you would have missed out on if you didn't have the implant.
Not sure if just the pump can be replaced or fixed but hopefully some doc can do it. To maintain size you might want to start cycling daily. Can't say anything about a VED as I didn't use one pre-implant. Sizing is still going to be determined on the table when doc has you split open. I think trying to use too big of an implant can cause erosion of tissue near the head of the penis.
Best of luck getting this taken care of.

I would replace the whole thing, you are getting cut anyway and everything is 12 yrs old. Recovery is going to be easy, nothing like the first implant, you got 12 yrs which is awesome, my first implant made it 5 yrs, second implant now in the 7th month.

I agree with wilsonmill. Replacing everything with an IPP or a malleable is a better option. If you replace only the pump, tubing failure or other issue may come up after 12 years of use.

Why title „…end of the road“ when it’s just about a potential regular revision?
41y/o, VL due to Finasteride use 17 years ago, PDE5i lost effect over the years, nothing worked anymore.
Implanted 18 Aug 2023 (while I was 40y/o), Titan 20cm + 1cm RTE, Germany

I don’t think a credible Dr would do a revision without replacing the whole thing. Can’t see why you wouldn’t want to replace the whole implant. If it’s not pumping up as hard as it was then get with a great Dr and get it replaced ASAP! Generally they go 2cm bigger at least when doing a revision not saying you’ll get bigger just that the crux generally has gotten deeper. Perot says in one of his videos that the old implant will maintain size even if broken but you would need a whole revision anyway. As likely as not it could be the tubing, reservoir, or pump but why consider shortening yourself by not replacing it all. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Keep us posted.
