Curious what your experiences have been with how many days you needed/wanted meds before cycling until they weren't needed/wanted any more.

For me the worst was the catheter post-surgery. Ugh I don't even like saying that word. One thing I'm seeing is that pain experiences seem to vary widely.
Is there anything one can do to mitigate the pain when first cycling? Did anyone out there not have such a bad first cycling experience?

You are missing the point being made by members. If the pain is too much? Simple, just stop pumping. My discomfort got less each day I pumped. It isn't unbearable & will not kill you. If its bad? Take some ibuprofen 30 minutes before cycling. You. know when you're going to be pumping so its easy to plan taking the pills. You're worrying over a minor thing.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable here. I'm simply for asking others experiences and what to expect.

I never said that you was unreasonable. Several have said as I did. You are in control of the pain. Because you are doing the pumping. If so desired you can take some OTC meds prior to pumping.
For the record. My wife says I'm a liteweight on pain. But I was an agressive pumper. More times per day than my drs schedule. I'm happy with my results.
Best for you to follow your drs advice.

The pain from the first few days of recovery is similar, but different. Nothing has expanded yet, or dug in to your pubic bone or pushed into your glans. Once the original pain of surgery subsides and you begin cycling the pain can very differently from person to person. Some people have zero pain. Others have a LOT of pain.

I DO have pain, but its not entirely unbearable, just uncomfortable. Tylenol before you cycle helps, though you should not over do it on Tylenol (bad for the Liver). Heat / hot baths help for sure. I tend to do mine in a VERY hot shower or bath. One when I wake up, and one when I go to bed - and maybe one in the middle of the day (I work from home) if I can.

I wouldn't worry TOO much about your first cycling experience. For everyone its different. It's not going to feel like you've cut your dick off or anything - more like an intense pressure or like you've torn a ligament or something. At the high end - and not intensely painful. I'l put the worst of it as about a 7 out of 10 - and that was fleeting. These days - at week 8.7 I'd give it a 4.

I'm 10 days post surgery now, penoscrotal incision for the implant, plus an incision all along the ventral side of my shaft to correct Peyronie's disease. So I have a lot of stitches. They're healing nicely but super sensitive to any stretching. Walking, sitting down and standing up are all challenging. Pain is mostly sharp and momentary. The head of my penis is the most sensitive - even clothes rubbing against it hurts. But I'm not in pain constantly. I don't feel any pain when I'm lying down. I'm uncomfortable, not in agony. I only took vicodin one night to help me sleep. These days I'm gradually just taking acetaminophen/Tylenol and ibuprofen/Motrin for pain less and less. Hopefully that gives you some idea of my tolerance for pain.

My doc won't clear me for cycling till 4-6 weeks after surgery. But I can feel the pump and the stitches in my scrotum are healing well, so I may start cycling a bit sooner. Since cycling apparently hurts a lot in the beginning, I may need to go back on pain meds then for awhile. My attitude is: it's going to hurt when I start cycling but I have to do it. Pain meds may help a little. Gradually it will get easier. Eventually it won't hurt to cycle at all. At least that's my plan.

Sounds like you have a very high pain tolerance ! Me not so much. I'm 4 days post-op and taking 5mg Oxy twice a day with some Tylenol ... along with lots of stool softener and fiber drinks :)

I'm sure you're cognizant of this ... but I'd advise to make absolutely sure the side incision is healed before cycling.
