Surgery 5 days ago with AMS 700 CX, 2 inch loss of length and dog ears?

I am 53 and just had the surgery on Monday, after dealing with ED for years and more recently Peyronie's disease. Trimix was still working but I didn't like the limitations on spontaneity and frequency so I opted for an implant. I'd been using RestoreX religiously for the last 3 months and both stretched and on Trimix had a good 7 inches. Now, post surgery (and doc says I am fully deflated), I appear to be 5 inches bone pressed. Is there any hope I will regain anything close to my original? I'm worried I was very much undersized, because my penis is kind of bunched up and clearly has a lot of ability to flex beyond where the cylinders are right now.

I also seem to have a dog ear on the right cylinder, though it's not visible, just palpable, and doesn't hurt as near as I can tell. Which was surprising as I thought the AMS did not suffer from those.

I also feel the tops of the cylinders are well below the glans and there is a bulge on the left size causing a slight deformity. Though if I feel underneath I do feel the tips of the cylinders are maybe just 1 cm short of the tip of the glans, so that may be normal.

Overall though I'm currently feeling some regret, as I was still able to get erections from Trimix, and maybe should have continued to just live with that a lot longer before going down this path. I read so many anecdotes of satisfaction, and that length should remain close to what it was, so I was expecting a better outcome than this.

Any advice?

Who was your Dr? Are you sure they implanted a 700CX? I haven't heard of a AMS having dog ears but I suppose they can but would be much softer than the Titans. The tips of the implant should be around 1/3rd the way into the glans I believe. What size were you implanted with? You should have gotten a card with the info after surgery with stickers saying something like AMS700CX 12mm x 21cm, 100ml conceal reservoir, maybe one that has like 1.5cm rear tips, and MS pump or Tenacio pump. There are a lot of things needed to know.

I'm having my surgery next week and my Dr told me to expect a lot of swelling around the pubic bone and it will be very deceiving how long my dick looks. It also needs to stretch over the first 3 months. I say keep your chin up, follow all the instructions and express your concerns with your Dr first chance you get. Good luck with your recovery!

It was Dr. Levine, who has been great overall and I know has tremendous experience in this, with over 4000 implant procedures under his belt. I'd say that the tips do go at least 1/3rd in, if I feel underneath then they do extend maybe half way into the glans, so that's probably ok. I can feel the bumps where the hard tips start above the inflatable portion and those are below the glans, but the very tip of those ends does extend into the glans.

I just talked to the doctor who assisted him in the procedure and he said he doesn't know what the bump is and was also surprised by it as AMS cylinders don't usually have dog ears, but he said it could just be a kink of some kind that would resolve with inflation, but they will look at it when I go in for my activation appt.

I do have a card that shows what you described with similar measurements: 12mm x 21cm, with 2cm extender and 100mL reservoir.

The doctor recommended I wait a while longer before assuming anything regarding the final outcome, as I still have a lot of healing to do, and there should be some expansion with inflation compared to the deflated state, as well as from arousal. He is certain that I did NOT lose 2 inches in length. He also thinks that it will become less stiff as I finish healing and that everything will settle better into place anatomically once I start cycling. So... I'll try to relax about it and see how it evolves over time.

The AMS CAN get dog ears, they just won't be as sharp, and trust me, as the implant softens, they will kind of work themselves out. I had a dog ear pretty bad for the first three weeks - after inflation, it went away. I really have to kink my penis to get a dog ear now.

On sizing, based on how you described things going into your glans, it sounds about right. I wouldn't stress TOO much about the length as of yet. You have a LOT of stretching to go before you need to worry - not saying you'll get 1" ot 3" back - but...you can expect some coming back as the CX works in. I THINK I was about 4.5-5" when I first measured - which freaked me out. I'm just about 5.34 when fully inflated - and I'm only three months in from surgery. I hope to get to 6" - but hey - my dick works - thats the important thing. Girth - I wish I was getting more - but...we'll see - it'll take time I know.

I wouldn't stress too much yet. Give it time. I do have to say getting the implant softened up - its getting better - and that takes time and cycling to get there.
