Titan lock out (back flow) not working after 6 years
Titan lock out (back flow) not working after 6 years
I’ve been having trouble using the lock out function of the titan implant for a while now. Recently over that last two days I have not been able to lock out my titan implant so for two days I haven’t been able to stop back flow and the cylinders filling with saline. I’ve had the implant for 6 years and this is the first time I can’t seem to lock out the back flow. I fully compress the button on the ball while bending and folding my shaft down to push the saline back into the resivore. Then I squeeze the bulb to lock out the saline but the bulb does not click when I squeeze it instead is compresses like a normal pump would and doesn’t lock out. I’m gonna call the coloplast rep and I’m also seeing my surgeon on two weeks. Any ideas to get this to lock out again?

Here's something you might consider. You can do a sort of "reset" on the Titan pump by pressing the side button as you would to deflate, and then squeezing the pump at the same time, as you would to inflate. When I first got my implant I read lots of Titan documentation, and this "reset" was one of the things that was described. I'm not sure exactly what it does, but I got the sense that it was a sort of Ctrl+Alt+Del for the pump and valves.
Implanted June, 2022 by Dr. Karpman. 22cm Titan with 1.5cm RTE.
