Yeah, but that could void the warranty on the implant !

The walk-through type scanners found at many ballparks won't detect it, but the more advanced scanners that you stand inside and raise your hands will catch it every time.

Keep in mind the TSA agents don't go to work thinking: "I hope I get to feel up an old mans crotch today". I always apologize to them pre-pat-down that they're having to do it. They then understand it's not my first feel-up, and they make it very quick.

Which type of implant do you have? And do you usually explain what you have or just let them do their job without saying anything?

I've got an LGX.
No need to explain the implant. I just remain calm and sympathetic to their rules.
Works for me every time. Delay is maybe 10 seconds.

They do have training in discretion, and a calm older man smuggling something in his ball-sack is the least of their worries. However if you decide to be an a-hole, they've got a box full of pocket knives left behind by others. You don't want to give them an excuse to poke around down there. :?

We arrived home a few hours ago, after two fun-but-exhausting weeks wandering through Scotland and Ireland. The implant was only detected the one time. Even though the scanners leaving Dublin appear the same as the ones in Edinburgh, they did not detect anything. For me, the take-away lesson is to remember that, even though it may only happen rarely, the implant can be detected by some airport security scanners. So, I’ll be sure to carry my implant card with my passport whenever I travel internationally. Just in case. But, also, not to worry about it too much. Even if they do detect something, it’s truly not a problem.
Aggressive prostate cancer (genetically predisposed) at 52. Required immediate intervention. Robot Assisted Radical Prostatectomy (RARP) in December 2021. Erectile function never returned. Penile implant (AMS-700) in March 2024. Bionic Boys Club FTW!
