I scheduled my surgery today with Dr Milam at Vanderbilt for June 11th. The only thing at this time that is a question to me is which device to choose. Going into this I fully expected to ask for an AMS LGX since it has expansion capability in both length and girth. That appealed to me from the standpoint that if the fit was a bit small, the device would grow into the void.
Both his assistant, Todd, and Dr Milam examined me. His assistant recommended a Titan and Dr Milam said either would work equally well. He did say the Titan provided more girth, but would not pick one or the other. I finally said I would go with the Titan.
I have a little bit of buyer's regret now not knowing whether I made the right choice in devices.
This may be like asking you prefer a coke or a pepsi, but I am going to ask if anyway. Did any of you face the same choice and what are your thoughts?
I will thank you ahead for your comments.
Bill

Re: Titan vs AMS LGX
hello I was wanting titan but my doc used AMS700LGX AND NOW THAT I HAVE HAD FOR THREE YEARS and studied the difference I am very pleased I got the AMS because it leaves you with a very nice soft dick that hangs down ,the titan seem to saty firmer ,the AMS also made me a little longer after time not that much ,but had robtic surgery for prostate cancer lost some length form that but the AMS brought it back out . I have 4 inches with a soft dick that kangs down and 6.75 when pumped up very happy with it ,but from what I hear either one is very good. good luck let us know how you come out your bionic brother

Hi Bill,
Lots of guys have faced a choice and your question has been asked many times before. I'm sure you will get some answers here, but lots of guys who have weighed in on this either don't post here anymore or are tired of answering the same question again and again. So you will find many opinions here if you wade through the archives. If your doctor, who is very experienced, doesn't have a strong recommendation one way or the other, I doubt it will make much difference to you. Here's my answer:

Re: Titan vs AMS LGX
Bill,
I think you know, i too, was thinking I would be recommended the LGX but surgeon swayed to Titan, although when discovered my concern, offered the AMS. In the end I went with his first choice. I chose my surgeon, Dr Morey, via recommendation of Milam's office, milam being my first choice at time. I know Milam and Todd are big fans of the AMS, or at least once were. For him to recommend in first choice the Titan suggests to me, that as my surgeon, he just feels it the choice for me/you per our particulars. After I have started the I/D exercise my "shape" has taken a more definite appearance (perhaps filling in) and the girth is more noticeable, and nice I might add. I think you will be pleased with either, but I would not hesitate with such a fine surgeon's first choice. Good luck. billyl

Hi Billy,
I was recently implanted (April 3) with the AMS. I'm still in recovery mode but like the way things look so far. I have an apt with surgeon on Wed probably to start inflating and deflating and then I can start flying again.
I don't think you can go wrong with anyone of them.
Good Luck
Walt

Wait,
That is excellent. The I/D exercise is much a trial trip just as the healing period of surgery was. Nothing to serious, but, at least to me, a little discomfort that seems better day by day. Bet you like the total outcome for sure. I got grins so far.

Re: Titan vs AMS LGX
Hi Bill,
I was implanted with the Coloplast Titan in December 2007 after developing ED Post-Prostatectomy in February 2004.
The Implant completely corrected my ED and restored both my sex life and the emotional bond with my wife.
My wife and I both love my Titan Implant and have been fully enjoying it for the past 6+ years.
I was once asked to briefly describe our feelings about the Titan and replied "It has given my wife and I a second chance
to act like High School Sweethearts!!"
In my opinion, that's as good as it gets.
Wishing you a lifetime of enjoyment with your up-coming Implant.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any non-medical questions or would just like to talk.

Re: Titan vs AMS LGX
I would highly recommend the Titian, the research by far is better. The top 3 out of 4 of the top surgeons in the US also use Titian. My Doctor at Duke implants both but reommended Titian, that is what I went with, if you want to talk let me know my e-mail jim27601@yahoo.com just ask for my number. I am an engineer and a research nut, but if you do your research you will see that Titian out last the AMS by far, it is also more durable and produces a much more stiffer erection. I lost no length and gained over 20% in girth, with the quick release round small pump you almost could can not tell I have one, a woman either it is that concealed. Have the dr show you both of them and feel the difference. Some of the AMS require a lot of pumping my Titian about 4 pumps is all you need.

Re: Titan vs AMS LGX
My first two implants were the AMS Ultrex, with the first lasting four years and the second lasting 14 years. I was very happy with both. For my third implant I got the AMS 700 LGX, which is an updated version of the Ultrex. I'm not happy with this latest, supposedly improved, version of what I had inside of me for 18 years, but my doctor says it's "not too bad." Were this my first implant I might think this is the way all of them are, but because of my long history with implants I know it isn't. Were I younger I would be searching around for a doctor who would agree with me that it needs to be replaced. Trying to find a local doctor to get a second opinion is impossible. I know... I've tried. But at my age and the increasing odds that I might get infected next time (and I don't really want to have this surgery for a fourth time), screw it. It does enable me to have intercourse, but the one inside of me is not nearly as good as the ones I got 18 and 14 years ago. Were I to do it again, though, I'd go with the Titan. I no longer have confidence in AMS. Read my earlier posts on here about my waiting to be wheeled into the operating room and then surgery being canceled because AMS sent the wrong implant to the hospital - and now this deformed implant - and you'll understand why.
I'm 75 and got an AMS Ultrex in 1995. Had it replaced in 1999. Got a new AMS 700 LGX in 2013.

Re: Titan vs AMS LGX
I had duel implants 4/1/14. My Dr has implanted both, but slants toward AMS. In my case he went with AMS since I was going for duel implant because in duel implants he prefers that both devices come from the same company (AMS 700 and AMS 800). I've had no big issues so far although it does feel a bit crowded and congested down there now, but controls for each device feel quite a bit different from each other so I guess it will all work out.
