It's been about 5 months since my first surgery and i still feel the reservoir on my left side inside my body on a daiy basis. It is not a pain, but sometimes it is a slight discomfort. I just know it's there all the time. It's on my left side.

Just for the record, its not palpable or visible, but i just feel there is something inside my body.

I wonder if anyone else feels it or not at all.

I have an obvious bulge protruding out from my belly. No pain and it doesn't bother me at all.

I haven't felt or seen mine since the day it was put in.
I wouldn't even know where it is if Dr. Clavell hadn't pointed to my right side when I asked him where he put it.

It doesn't hurt and I can't see it, but if push up against my lavatory sink or anything else that is right at that level, I can feel that it's there. Mine is on the right side.

interesting results. i'm two months out, i have no idea where my reservoir is unless i was told. doesn't impact daily activities, exercise or anything. No issues with traveling through TSA (on the few occasions for US flights).

But I gained about 20 pounds last year when doc put me on a heavy round of prednisone after another event. Prior to the weight gain if I poked hard enough, I could sort of feel it.

Careful with the Prednisone, Old Guy. It’s an immune suppressant, and can potentially lead to infection around the implant. That happened to someone on here.

I thought about the same thing, read the guy who did a detailed post abotmut getting an infection 4 months after the implant. He was taking prednisone if I remember correctly

I feel it almost constantly. It's like feeling a pressure from the inside. The best way to describe it would be the feeling when you are wearing a belt that is a bit too tight and you just want to remove it. It's not pain but just a bit of discomfort reminding me the reservoir is there. And I feel it only on the left side where the reservoir is located

How long after the initial surgery was your revision? Did you ever feel discomfort there or was just something visual/cosmetic?

There are usually two places docs put the reservoir. Traditional approach is to put it in the place of retzius inside the body cavity next to the bladder. This is done for people who have had no pelvic area issues such as from prostate cancer radiation. The other is submuscular underneath the abdomen muscles. Some docs consider this safer as it is away from vital organs but is more visible and palpable.

Question: Guys who feel the reservoir, is yours placed submuscular and do you have auto inflation issues from it?

55 years. Using bimix 0.4 units. Works well but inconsistent and very inconvenient. Seriously considering an implant. 6.4 inches bone pressed length to tip, 5 inches girth base, 4.5 inches girth mid-shaft.

sambalamba is spot on.
There will be two totally different responses to this survey depending on where the reservoir was placed.

Those who have it placed in the space of the Retzius will likely respond that they never feel it and/or have no idea where their reservoir is.

I had prostrate surgery plus radiation treatments so mine is ectopic aka sub muscular. I know exactly where it is because my left lower abdomen was bruised and sore for a few weeks after implant surgery. Today I can only feel it if I purposely palpate for it. It’s not visible and doesn’t bother me a bit while going about my daily activities. And, zero auto inflation issues.
