What made you decide to go back to an IPP from the malleable? I was favoring getting the genesis but I just don't know.

i think the sizing is appropriate in terms of length, it goes to the middle of the glans similar to my inflatable implant before. the Girth is the biggest thing. I got 11 mm now and that may have been because of the infection. I'm figuring out whether to ask for the malleable to 13 mm size (either tactra or rigicon) or go back to inflatable. I had ams and titan before, and the ams was much more natural and i liked. I'm leaning towards going back to inflatable, but always worried about infection since this will be my 4th implant now.
If I got infected today and had to choose between Rigicon and Tactra, I’d pick Rigicon for its hydrophilic coating, which studies show reduces the odds of infection by a greater percentage.
However, if you are really really bent on getting another IPP, I want to share something that is encouraging by Dr. Clavell. Please see attached.
i actually met with the doctor today and decided to move forward with another AMS 700 implant. Scheduled for surgery next month. Been doing a lot of questioning recently about my choices and think its the right thing for me.
I have no problem undergoing the revision surgery. The infection stemmed from my own doing (getting fat injections in Mexico that went south). All faith in my surgeon after a very detailed discussion of malleable vs inflatable and the different brands (coloplast, ams, rigi con). For me the AMS makes the most sense. wish me luck its been quite a journey this year!
Good luck jwitten567!
Someone in this forum said, 'Trust your good surgeon,' and it’s great that you ran with that mindset. I love that approach since surgery is more of an art than a science, and their masterpiece is what we’ll live with for the rest of our lives. Glad you finally settled on an option!

Well I got the malleable as a result of a bad infection. Unfortunately, I haven't tested it out for sex due to the circumstances and that I currently don't have stable partner.
The biggest factor for me was with the inflatable was much easier to work with when flaccid - exercising, wearing tailored clothing, swimming. I think those things would be hard for me with malleable.
Timing wise, I don't want to loose any more girth (which got me into this mess in the first place) so getting back to the inflatable or 13 mm malleable was important (just making the decision between the two and talking to the surgeon seems might be a little harder to conceal the 13 mm when not in use. He was able to show me the difference - at least with the coloplast genesis and he mentioned it would be even worse with tactra due to the inner core.
Radical Prostatectomy in 2015; failed pills, straight to Coloplast Titan in 2019 by Dr. Valenzuela; Replaced with AMS 700 CX in 2022 by Dr. Patel in San Diego. Infection after fat grafting injections in Mexico - now with Genesis Malleable, 2024.

Tactra is a malleable choice that lots of surgeons aren’t thrilled about, but patients love it anyway. Surgeons obsess over concealing ability, they’d hate to have their day trashed by running into unhappy patients, while for us, it’s all about that solid erection. Genesis, though, is the implant that’s pretty much flawless. The quiet unpopular superstar of prosthetic urology
