I am post op day 8. Here is my experience with the immediate post op period r/t clothing.
First and foremost: follow your doc’s suggestions to the letter. Ask them how you should be pointing and for how long. Ask for suggestions about briefs and underwear for the immediate post op period.
The topic of underwear after implant is a common one here and if you haven’t already, search the implant section for the term undsrwear, briefs, and so on. You’ll find lots to read.
My doc told me that a jockstrap over my regular boxer briefs would likely be the most comfortable thing. He bandaged me pointing straight up towards my navel and that continues to be the most comfortable position 8 days later.
Guys here mentioned wearing an infant sock over the penis to keep it from rubbing against clothes. I have found that helps.
I found that the pump was rubbing the root of my penis inside my scrotum. Putting a gauze pad under and behind my balls/pump helps with that. You’ll have to figure out what hurts/feels good and adjust accordingly.

Infant sock and gauze pad.
Size XL jockstrap over my size medium boxer briefs. The larger pouch of the XL jockstrap allows the waist band to be worn high (looks rediculous I know). That way the penis is pointing straight up but isn’t pinched by the waistband of the jock.
Brands of underwear have been discussed here countless times. David Archey is the brand I saw mentioned most. Sepretec was mentioned quite a bit. Another fellow I talked with here swore by the brand Bamboo Cool. I bought 2 or 3 pair of each and when it’s time to move on from the briefs/jock combo I’ll try those and see what is best for the next phase. I suspect I’ll want support but not need the jock strap anymore.
