My WTF moment

Postby Osprey_1 » Tue Apr 01, 2025 6:30 pm

I’m 8 days past implant surgery. I’m having my WTF or “what the F have I done to myself” moment. I posted earlier that my dick is numb. The pump is sitting at an angle in my scrotum and I can feel the tubes going up into my abdomen along with pain. I literally feel like Frankenstein. I’ve noticed that the tips of the implant seem dangerously close to tip. Can it really stand up to sex without eroding? I’m sitting here wondering how this can possibly end well. If there are any words of encouragement out there, now is the time.

You are only 8 days, sounds normal, are you walking yet any distance? Give it time, it will be great and it will be the new you.

Walking is no problem. Walking around with a boner that’s which is impossible to hide is a problem. My girlfriend wants to meet up with friends on Friday and simply doesn’t understand why I’d be reluctant. Well, that’s a small problem. Having a number dick is a problem.

I'm pretty sure that you are doing fine and all is normal based on my own limited experience. I'm at day 27 post op and still have regular “what the F have I done to myself” moments. Also still have similar issues to you what describe, although my dick numbness has reduced significantly in the past 24 hours. But now it has been replaced by soreness instead . I have similar pump positioning, albeit with an LGX MS pump rather than a Titan. I posted yesterday about how heavy it feels to lift up the pump and the irritation it causes sitting at the base of my scrotum. But I've mostly gotten over the initial Frankenstein feelings and starting to accept my new bionic dick with all of the quirks it's likely to deliver over the next 6-12 months. I've noticed that it now looks and generally feels much better as the days and weeks have gone on. Although I still freak out a bit for some reason when I locate the tubes going up into my abdomen. I knew going into this for the first time to expect a long haul. So I'm trying not to be too concerned by all of the issues that many guys seem to experience to some degree. Of course if you are really worried about something, especially infection, best to contact your medical team.

I'm so over the 24/7 boner. I've pretty much stopped even caring if anyone sees it. Loose clothing and tight but stretchy underwear helps a little with concealment.

Did you get penoscrotal or infrapubic?

Osprey, you’ll be fine. I had mine done at age 79 and thought the same as you with your WTF moment.
I would definitely stay away from a party so soon after surgery, but that’s just me. I rarely left the house for at least three weeks. There’s no way in hell I was going to risk hurting myself. I’m a year and a half from surgery, and loving my bionic dick, as you will, I promise.
All of us here on F.T. have been through this and will gladly help guide you through your journey.
Just ask any of us.

You are at the very beginning of a long and gradual healing process. Be patient with yourself and with your body. Many guys who’ve been through it will tell you that the psychological recovery takes as long as the physical recovery. But you will get there. A year from now, it’ll all seen normal. Numbness can last for a few months. Mine sure did. But now, all those good sensations are back and I am incredibly grateful to be a member of the Bionic Boys Club! You’ll help yourself immensely if you can adjust your mindset to long-term recovery. Don’t panic. Be patient. And take good care of yourself while you allow your body to heal. A year from now, you’ll be glad you did!

Hang in there. You just had a MAJOR change to your genitals. Lots of stuff got moved around and jostled and such. Numbness happens, and should improve with time. Where is the numbness? Is it focused or general? As far as the 'erection' did the surgeon leave you inflated any? I know that can be common. Wear baggy pants, and if you can wrap your unit in a sock and keep it pointed up. Thats generally the best way. With only 8 days out from surgery I'm surprised you'd want to be around anyone! I was still in a good amount of pain.

By the way - healing can take months - not weeks for some people. For me I wasn't really pain free until about the two month mark, and now at the four month mark things are considerably normal now - but it took time. Hang in there - you'll get there!

Numbness is where you don’t want it … the glans penis and the underside. I simply can’t believe how indifferent my doctor is to this as if it really doesn’t matter in the long them. Is the objective to restore penetrative sex or to restore a normal rewarding sex life. If I end up with a numb dick, what is the point of all this. At least before, I could have an orgasm through oral sex.
